iiyama B1780SD-B1 17 Inch TN LCD, 1280x1024 ,1 x VGA, 1 x DVI, 2 x 1W Speakers, HA Stand

Bought this as a replacement for my old Iiyama monitor (That would definitely be 5 Star - 8 years as main monitor and then more as secondary monitor after we bought a new widescreen). The old monitor finally packed up and it seemed natural to look at Iiyama again. One factor that we liked was the ability to rotate display 90 degrees to portrait mode and also to adjust display height. Latter is useful but after initial trials the standard landscape mode was actually better for our purposes (=> Only go for this option if you are sure that you really need it, otherwise go for standard mount - cheaper). Display is very clear, stable etc. so that is OK. OSD control is a bit fiddly - kept disappearing 1/2 way through setup, but again that isn't a major problem as most setup is done via graphics software. I'm being "mean" by only giving 4 stars, however by the time the monitor earns its fifth star (for proven reliability) it will probably have been replaced in the catalogue :-)

Great value monitor. Bought 2 to replace two old monitors, one of which had broken, and the picture quality is superb. They only rotate one way, and I wanted to use them in portrait orientation with the bezels opposed, but its a simple enough job to remove the stand from the screen and screw it back on 'upside down'. The viewing angle in portrait mode isn't the best, but its acceptable for my needs. The image is crips and sharp and bright - very bright! Had to turn the brightness and contrast down to 50% and adjust the colour to 75% on all 3 channels to get a good match with my main monitor (which sits between these two). So, back to a lovely triple setup (and much more even than before).

Chose this to replace my old monitor which died recently. Excellent monitor; images on screen are very sharp using DVI cable. Only problem I had was with the OSD to adjust the settings. Very fiddly, and the OSD did not stay displayed long enough for me to work out what button to press next. In the end I used pc's graphics control panel to set it up, now it is perfect.

Good product, but despite Amazon's description, it isn't capable of widescreen display.

A very good monitor, clear picture with no flickering. The unit is height adjustable, which is very handy. All the controls are at hand are easy to understand, the only minor criticism is the lack of a manual volume control as opposed to an electronic system. Having said that, I would have no hesitation in recommending the monitor.

Fantastic product, and absolutely ideal for my needs as a second monitor when compiling text.
