Repair kit top lock roof cylinder for Mercedes-Benz SL R230 / SLK R170 /SLK R171 (Seal kit to fix external leak of top hydraulic cylinder on upper windscreen frame)

This kit worked great! You will need to be capable of removing the entire cylinder with the lines from the car or be able to rebuild the cylinder with the lines still attached to the car. This is what I did. I drilled the side of the cylinder body to access the retaining clip to release the shaft assembly from the aluminum cylinder body. 1/8" drill bit. Once the shaft assembly was removed I drilled out each side of the factory shaft collar with a 1/8" drill bit to remove the old seal and install the new one. I used red loctite on the new collar screws during assembly. It takes finesse to get the new seal into the aluminum body so use something small and not sharp to work the seal into the aluminum body. Reassemble and everything worked great
