XtremeMac USB-B22-03 Tango soundbar speaker

Firstly the soundbar is fantastically packaged and secure in what feels like a Russian doll of boxes (3 in total). But when you eventually get to your new sound bar, at first I wasn't sure what the qaulity would be like. But after setting it up (which took all of 10 seconds by going into sound and changing the output to USB device) I was pleasantly surprised.The flat sound of the iMac was instantly replaced by by a forward facing depth of sound.Being a musician and a designer, sound is important to me to be able to work. I'm also pretty critical, so I will break down the attributes:Treble 4/5 - It can get a little tinny up the top end but that's only when you crank it up.Mid Range 5/5 - Can't fault the mid range output of this device.Bass 3/5 - The bass isn't great, but it's a marked improvement on the iMac's bassless sound.Clarity 4/5 - Depends what volume you have it at, but the clarity is pretty damned good.Output 5/5 - When you've got it turned fully up, you'll be worried you'll crack the screen.Over All Value For Money 5/5 - For the price I would certainly recommend. It looks great, sounds great and with my Quirky USB Space Bar and 27 Inch Mac, it completes the ultimate set up. It's not going to blow your mind and offer masses of bass and depth, but it's a marked improvement on the Mac's speakers.Edit: Upon closer inspection, having only had the bar a few hours, I found a tiny chip out of the aluminium on top of bar, which wasn't due to the packaging, which kind of ruins the look of the brushed slick look. I've sent off for a replacement, but having had it delivered after 3 days the first time, apparently theres now up to a four week delay... so will hold fire on the service side until then.

My Harman Kardon sound sticks were appropriated by my sister, and I liked the looks of this soundboard. It certainly looks good under a 21 inch iMac, but the sound was disappointing - not much volume, poor base, and when on more than 75% volume it was so tinny we wonder if we had a faulty unit with the internal speakers not mounted properly.Returned it for a refund, and took a £10 hit on the return postage..........

Previously bought a large sound bar for my living room because I wanted surround sound but not the trailing wires, as my computer room had a five speaker surround sound system-with wires and speakers all over the place I thought I would look for a smaller model sound bar so I could tidy the room up a bit. At first I was a little put off by it being USB powered and only 10w, but the internet picture looked good with the Apple Mac. so I took a chance and sent for it. It arrived very quickly and well packaged with easy to follow instructions, set up was so very easy, it looked fantastic with my Mac. Now the moment of truth, ( I kept the packaging just in case ) switched on the Xtreme Mack Tango Bar and was delighted, the sound quality was way beyond my expectations, better in my opinion than the previous surround system and it looked great, my room was transformed, this sound bar is so neat and fits perfectly under my Mac. I cannot praise this product enough, highly recommended.

4 Stars- Only because if you want to play music loud I look for a better set, as they do distort.Delivery was well in time, and excellent packaging (boxed 3 times) and bubble wrap.For general iMac listening and as we use the mac as a TV, we have found this speaker very good, and it seems to throw the sound around. But as I said for playing music wound up to Eleven, No! They aren't made for this , they start to distort, yet they handle a noisy action film on DVD very well.For my everyday use of my Mac I find these a great product for the price- Horses for courses as they say- Digseyboy

Ok, so firstly, the delivery was spot on. Packaging was spot on. Looks of the Soundbar, spot on. Sound is spot on.(not major loud but for me personally with it in the kitchen is has plenty to offer.So why only 1 stars you may ask. Well firstly, after 4 months use, the bar just stopped working. I tried everything but sadly to no avail, there was no life in it. I tried finding a telephone number of the company from all the booklets and other pieces of paper they sent. NO Telephone Number. (Very Poor). Did manage to find an E-Mail address but that no longer exists. (Even Poorer). Kept getting message back that the email i sent was undelivered. Clearly they dont want to be contactable by angry customers. I did contact Amazon on there live chat and they resolved the problem for me by sending out a new one straight away. This one is still working after 8 months so fingers crossed it will keep working.So as for this company, they are extremly poor in that you cannot get to deal with them directly. Top class to Amazon for resolving the problem for me. Very helpfull indeed. Thank you amazon. I would however recommend you contact this company and tell them that they need to offer someway for customers to be able to communicate their problems to them directly.15 Months on. I've now dropped their rating from 3 stars to 1 star. My second soundbar has now packed up. It started with an annoying intermiitted popping sound while playing music,this went on for a few weeks. Then one day it just stopped altogether. I think there is a problem with the lead. It is very flimsy and weak and I believe this may be the major factor why this item does not function well. It's not like I move it around the house. (it stays in the same spot, period. )Sadly due to the lengh of time i've had this, I am unable to return the item and seek a refund. (should had done this in the first placed)...:(I know there are many people who are happy with their product, but for me personally, to happen once is unlucky, to happen twice is unforgivable. I wouldnt bother having another one of these even if they even gave it away for free. Complete waste of time and money.One discruntled customer:(
