UNDER SIEGE (DVD/S) [1992]

Childhood memories for me big 90’s & early 2000’s movie fan .. this was a must haveIn perfect condition sounds & looks great & the box is perfect all the inserts are still in the DVD & then all the deleted scenes , A must have for Action Fan!!

If you like all-action movies you'll love this one. As with most action movies you have to suspend disbelief at least a little but, assuming that's a given, the movie is just great.Seagal plays Casey Ryback - a cook (yup, that's right, a cook) who, by the way, is also a trained Navy SEAL trained in unarmed combat, explosives, weapons usage, tactical weapons etc etc etc. Due to some incident in his past he's working as a cook on board a US warship.Then the bad guys arrive and hijack the ship. A curious plot, but there you go. Naturally they take out all officers ranking higher than the traitor who lets them in but conveniently don't know that Ryback has skills beyond pie-making.So begins the carnage, as this now somewhat annoyed Navy SEAL decides to take back the ship. With a little help from Miss July 1989 and a few crew members he finds locked in a room somewhere he not only kills the entire army of bad guys but also manages to take out the Korean submarine that wanted to buy the nuclear missiles on board the ship.If you don't like action movies, or you like to gripe about people who can still climb almost sheer surfaces despite having their arms torn by a grappling hook then don't bother with this one. If you like a bit of all-action quasi-comedy with disbelief well and truly suspended then just go and buy it.

Masquerading as the ships cook, one man army Casey Ryback is forced to fighting off pirates who want to commandeer his ship and its nuclear capabilities.The DVD cover proudly boasts that this is Die Hard on a boat!, and they be right. Because of all the shallow, and at times painful imitators that followed Bruce Willis' action molder in 1988, Under Siege is right up with the best of them. It's of course a complete no brainer, one where the outcome is inevitable, Seagal we know will don his usual blank expression and beat the living daylights out of all comers, and even look cool in the process!. Thankfully the action sequences are handled excellently by director Andrew Davis, this is not out and out carnage, and with Tommy Lee Jones and Gary Busey having the time of their villainy lives, Under Siege just really rocks the action genre boat.Not one to look too deeply into, lest one is obsessed with token totty Erika Eleniak that is, but certainly a film that is as much fun as it is knowingly dumb. 8/10

This has to be the highlight of Segal's career. He plays ex-navy S.E.A.L. Casey Ryback, who's now the cook on a battleship that gets taken over by a band of mercenaries, and it's up to Ryback and a stripper, brought on board for a party, to take it back again. It's a great story and Segal's supported by a good cast that includes Gary Busey, Erika Eleniak, and Tommy Lee Jones, giving a great over the top performance as the wild leader of the mercenaries. If you're a fan of action movies, even if you're not a fan of Segal's other films, then this is one you can't afford to miss.

I actually enjoyed seeing this film and will even be keeping the dvd to watch again. - Amazing, as the only times I have tried to watch Steven Seagal films before, I have given up early on, in despair at his poor acting skills. But this one - as a sort of Schwarzenegger action film crossed with the Bruce Willis / Die Hard franchise is actually very watchable and enjoyable.

Excellent movie. Advise.Loses its value to belong to region 2 and not have subtitles in Portuguese.It is incomprehensible ...

Die hard at sea & one of seagal's best ever films its a very fast moving film when you watch it where did the time go?
