Purple red romaine lettuce can produce long crunchy spoon shaped leaves that start green and fade to profuse purple red.
This variety of lettuce seeds can grown as ornamental vegetable plant in your garden borders or flower beds to attractive people.
For continuous harvest it is recommended to sow a few seeds every 10-15 days.
Butter lettuce is great for making salad wraps and is perfect for adding to sandwiches. Very easy and funny to grow by yourself.

You will get approximately 400 lettuce seeds. Lettuce grows well in cool weather, so the first crop can be direct sown when the soil temperature reaches at least 35 degrees F, or as soon as the soil can be worked. Can be direct seeded, 3 seeds every 8 inches in rows 6-8 inches apart, as early as the soil can be worked or grown indoors 3-4 weeks before transplanting outdoors. Cover seed lightly with about 1/8 inch of fine soil, and firm soil gently. Sow no deeper than 1/4 inch in fertile, well-drained soil. Lettuce likes sun.
