The theme tune is great too!
I know little of the "proper" Tarzan. I didn't care for any of the Hollywood films, but I frequently found myself looking forward to watching this Filmation animation when it was shown on the BBC after school hours - 40 years ago! Filmation's Tarzan is a fine figure of a man who has mutual respect for animals and an intelligence that knows how to right the wrongs he encounters, in short - a hero. and they don't come much better!

A great trip down memory lane
A great trip down memory lane. I've been a Tarzan fan for as long as I can remember and this animated series is possibly the closest to Burroughs original books as you can get. Whilst the animation is a bit basic, it is still good and the stories more than make up for it. Foreign release, but plays perfectly well in English with no tricky menues to wade through.

Animation is grainy (not digitally remastered)
I know this animation series is over 40 years old but it could have been digitally remastered like the Filmation Flash Gordon series. The first episode "Tarzan and the City of Gold" has two permanent vertical white lines running through out the episode, very annoying and spoils the viewing.
