This system has better range, features, and battery life than previous Z-wave motion detectors
Why did you pick this product vs others?:It has better Z-wave range and a better battery system than previous motion detectors. It also offers the option of AC power via USB connector. It is quite sensitive to motion so outdoor placement is key as a windy day can run the batteries down. The additional sensing features are a nice plus.

Bought a second one
I own the zooz 29 outdoor sensor and it seems to work well, this is my second purchase of the 70 model. On the first sensor, the biggest issue is after I sync with smartthings (which was easy), when I screw on the back cover, it freezes because I get a tamper alert, I spent 3 days fighting the tamper freezing thing. The second sensor worked perfectly. Both sensors operate well. I also used this cover.—see link below. It protects the sensor from weather. It also keeps sun rays from triggering false alerts. You just need to cut about 20% off the back of the camera skin. Overall very happy with these sensors. https://www.amazon.com/kwmobile-Skin-Arlo-Ultra-Pro/dp/B07QKJVVS9/ref=mp_s_a_1_5_sspa?crid=1PZN4OO2UAZA3&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.l7ItRLMIA566XNTOdM7G95GVU8uuBk6ErAXoRmv4jXPEx83vSxJth4jduG5cC0VUn4qH_SGgr9zHNu-7q9h_OOo9_0_NuArO2-EFUStDy_FuGe1WrnTm91x_vL3n_xLqowAlg8oVDCE7wLrvKN61xrHMa8HsS07p8129eipDeejmBj8Dkc-mb19N9391n6Y__a9k-vbIV0wh_J6p-s-B7w.gyURSlv35FjMTurZD9N977Xg2jaaIWnkVqvSb4sn25w&dib_tag=se&keywords=arlo+essential+camera+skin+covers&qid=1735608689&sprefix=arlo+camera+skin%2Caps%2C97&sr=8-5-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfbXRm&psc=1

Horrible Battery Life
I love Zooz, normally their products are pretty good I have close to 2 dozen I bet. But this thing is a dud, It's barely been mounted outside for a month, and now I have to take it down, and put new batteries in it? I have the latest firmware.I have other ZWave plus motion sensors that have been working 2 years and still don't need a new battery.

Command tape mounting brackets
A customer has decided to move from Hue to Zooz. Designed and printed him a few of these corner mounts using Command tape. Worked out well. The only complaint I have is the battery cover. Holy smokes it's hard to remove? Took a lot of muscle to turn that thing to access the batteries.

Not reliable
I bought 2, one is hardwired, one running on battery. The device sometimes just goes off line inexplicably. You can have it on your desk in your house and it still happens.I have been testing it a bunch and sometimes jumping up and down in front of the sensor doesn't trigger it. Not very robust. If you are using it for security, skip this. I can often walk right by it without detection.$100 failed experiment.

Works great with Home Assistant but it does take some work to install
I recently purchased the Zooz Outdoor/Indoor Motion Sensor ZSE70, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. This sensor is a fantastic addition to my smart home setup, offering a range of features that enhance both security and convenience. The Z-Wave Long Range capability is a game-changer, providing an impressive 800 LR range that ensures reliable connectivity throughout my property. The motion detection is highly accurate. One thing to note is that the sensor requires "z-wave JS" for integration, but once set up, it works seamlessly with my existing system. Additionally, it's crucial to ensure that your RF region is set for USA long range to get setup correctly.

Works as described, no disappointments.
This sensor is great! Simple to set up and put into service. Does exactly what Zooz says it will do. This is paired to a Smart Things hub and function was very easy to program.

Good product - with Hubitat Hub
I'm using this indoors and powered by a 24VDC power supply. It responds quickly and functions well in the Hubitat ecosystem.
