Great stand overall
This stand is not perfect, but overall it is very good.Firstly, when considering buying one I think it's important to consider how you intend to use it. For example, I bought it primarily as a stand for my Native Instruments "Maschine" (Mk2) drum machine. And for that, this stand is pretty much perfect. However, I do also occasionally use the stand for its intended use, e.g. as a laptop stand. And for that purpose, I can see the limitations.First, the PROs:* Fantastic build quality.* Very sturdy and robust.* Good quality materials and finish.* Very flexible in terms of its height and angle adjustability. The CONs:* Mouse shelf is indeed far too small for its intended use. It could however accommodate a trackball device, which doesn't need to move. For me personally, it is also going to be perfect for holding a small hardware synth such as a Dave Smith Tetra.* Mouse shelf isn't removable.* Mouse shelf gets in the way when adjusting the tilt angle of the laptop stand and doing final adjustments. That said, once its all in place, this factor is no longer a problem and can be quickly forgotten about. So overall this is a great stand, albeit with a few minor compromises. I do recommend it, especially for "Maschine" owners. If you want to use the mouse stand for its intended use, then you may want to consider using a trackball instead.I am considering buying another of these stands, because they are very versatile and sturdy.

Very sturdy and well built
This is a really solid and well made stand. It's perfect for what I was after. My laptop is used as a virtual instrument for my band and it fits in neatly with my keyboard stand. Feels as though it should withstand gigging. I don't use the mouse tray for a mouse and as others have mentioned it's really a bit small for most mice. I use it to hold my Roland audio interface, which fits really nicely. In the description the mouse tray is described as being able to use it on the left or right, which I suppose is true, but if you want it on the left the tray will be toward the back of the laptop as the only way I can see to place it there is to turn the whole laptop table around.I would really have liked some kind of case for this stand that would allow me to carry it with the table folded but left in place, primarily to protect the mouse tray which slides out easily when carrying it. There doesn't appear to be anything custom made for it, but I've found it fits nicely into a padded guitar case, with the table folded and put where the body of the guitar would be and the legs in the neck section. It's also not an expensive option. I would certainly recommend this stand!

Hasn't let me down yet
was different from the one in the pic. I think it might be an older model. the one i got was a return i think. anyway the grips looked really good in the pick, on mine they were just 4 hex-keys attached with rubber caps. the rubber caps have long since vanished but i still trust it with my macbook pro. a bit fiddly setting up and packing down but the most important factor if using something like this (like me) to gig with a laptop, it's very sturdy

A good stand, not the cheapest but fine quality
A great product, not the cheapest of this type of product but the quality is first class. Sturdy and adjustable in height, tilt and rotation you will be able to find the optimum position for your laptop. The mouse tray tucks away if not needed (but does impinge slightly on the adjustments for the laptop sliders) but I used mine to hold a lamp! I have a widescreen 17" + laptop and I found the sliders adjusted well and soon were snugly holding it in place. They are helped with a grippy rubber section on the laptop tray. Very pleased, I will feel the benefits long after I have forgotten that it wasn't the cheapest buy.

Probably the best purchase I have made for gigging!
I'm a bit of an active keyboard player (using VSTis) and found that using the 2nd tier on my keyboard stand was not laptop friendly - a few near misses made me think of a better solution... And boy am I glad I found this! Perfect fit for my Dell Studio XPS16 AND Babyface (placed in the mousetray). It feels REALLY secure on stage and I can leave it off to the side but within reach during performance. Its honestly one of the best things I have purchased for my live rig and helps setup quickly and easily... Perfect!

It's a bit heavier than I expected, for air travel that is. Generally, mobile enough and a good piece of kit that gets you up from that desk at work, also performs well if your work takes you out doors in the field.

Perfect for use in the office and even outdoors for field work. I don't use the mouse tray for a mouse but it holds a portable hard drive very well. It's easily adjustable, just like a mic stand

Very good stand but a bit heavy
Very good stand but a bit heavy. The rubbery caps on the arms fall off a bit too easily to get 5 stars, I have lost one already, not that that impacts its operation.
