A Game-Changer for Safe, Efficient Home Workouts
After injuring my shoulder with traditional dumbbells over a year ago, I was hesitant about getting back into strength training. The Speediance Gym Monster 2 has completely transformed my approach to working out and helped me return to regular exercise with confidence. The machine's safety features stand out as its greatest strength. The assist modes and automated weight adjustments have allowed me to rebuild my strength gradually without fear of reinjury. Unlike my previous setup with just dumbbells and a bench, the Speediance provides controlled, smooth movements that feel secure and stable throughout each exercise. The build quality is exceptional - this is a serious piece of equipment. It arrived quickly via Amazon Prime shipping, though I'd strongly advise having help for the delivery and setup (I actually ended up helping our delivery team carry it in!). Despite its substantial weight, which speaks to its quality construction, setup was straightforward once it was in place. What truly sets this machine apart is how it streamlines the workout experience. The on-screen guidance eliminates the guesswork from my sessions, while automatic rest time and weight tracking keep me focused on the exercises rather than managing details. I'm completing workouts more efficiently than ever before, and the variety of exercise options keeps things interesting and engaging. The interface is intuitive and well-designed, making it easy to follow along with preset workouts or create custom routines. The team behind Speediance appears committed to continuous improvement, regularly updating features and responding to user feedback. One of my favorite things -- no subscription fee. I didn't want to deal with the other companies who are charging so much for equipment and then throw a $40-$60 fee on top of it every month. The biggest transformation has been in my attitude toward working out. What started as a cautious return to exercise has become something I genuinely look forward to. The combination of guided workouts, progress tracking, and the sheer convenience of having a comprehensive gym in my home has made fitness feel more accessible and enjoyable than it was with my previous basic setup. For anyone recovering from an injury or looking to upgrade their home gym with a safer, more sophisticated solution, the Speediance Gym Monster 2 is worth serious consideration. It's not just a piece of exercise equipment - it's a complete fitness system that makes consistent, safe training accessible at home.

I didn't realize I'd enjoy a smart home gym this much!
I’ve had my Gym Monster 2 (GM2) for about 2 weeks now, and all I can say is that we love it! Going into this purchase, my mind was wrapped around the fact that we’d have the ability to do a bunch of different exercises without having a bunch of weights to lug around, and all with a small footprint. What I didn’t give nearly as much weight to in my purchase decision was the “smart” part of the gym and the content available from it. This I think is where things get really cool!On day one, I did some free weights. That was great. Given all the pivot points for the cable you can do a lot of different exercise (like other cable machines). The first time you experience the weight turning on is sort of (and still to this day) magical. Being able to quickly change the weights and select from standard, cable, eccentric or fixed speed modes is a great feature. Also being able to set a spotter is awesome. If you can’t finish the rep, the machine will start to lower the weight until you’re able to get it moving again! Then on day 2 I tried one of the daily workout routines. This was awesome. I was able to select a 30ish minute workout that targeted the group of muscles I was interested in that day. I didn’t have to think much after that. I was guided through various video workouts, some of the videos tell you things to watch out for in your technique, and you get instant feedback if you’re lifting uneven, not holding your rep long enough, etc. At the end of the workout, you get a report to show you how you did, and it stores it in your profile. No more having to remember how much weight you used last, when you last did a certain exercise, or charting your progress, etc. It’s all there.I’ve since added my own custom workout routines where I can select the individual exercises from the catalog and specify the reps, weight types, etc., and it’s all ready for me to go with the click of a few buttons on the screen. So, what’s next? I want to try a multiple day/week programs that are available within the platform. The other thing I really like is that my kids like to use it. The rule I have is that they can only do a guided workout if they pay attention to the form and what the personal trainer is saying. This is great because they can learn the correct techniques and not treat my GM2 as another one of their toys!Overall, we love this thing. So, what do I not like? The only thing I can really think of is related to how the workouts are filmed and recorded. There seems to be two types of videos recorded. One that has video with a dubbed over (computer generated?) voice, and another where the personal trainer is actually talking to you. They each have their own benefits. I like how the dubbed over audio videos will stop the playing vocal track when you have 3 reps left and tell you that you have 3 reps left. But the voice track in general seems very impersonable. In contrast, the videos where the personal trainer is talking to you seems more personable and genuine, I’d imagine like working with a real personal trainer to some degree. The only bad thing is it doesn’t tell you when you have those 3 reps left, but they do tell you good job at the end. It would be cool if they could somehow combine the two styles of filming so that you had the feedback of where you’re at with your workout without having to look at the screen.A couple other things, the Official Speediance Community Facebook group is great and has a lot of positive vibes going on. The other thing I think is cool is the different goals and challenges that are available in the app. I’m working on the 20 Day Resolution Ready 2025 Challenge in hopes of winning a physical gold badge! I have a completely different type of product where that company does similar challenges and ships you badges or awards. It’s a great after-purchase experience for customers. I hope Speediance continues this! The other goals awarded in the app are also nice milestones to celebrate the work you’ve put into your workouts.Again, I’ve owned the GM2 for two weeks, but I’m loving it. I’ve used it almost every day and I can already see a difference in the mirror and how I feel. I can’t wait to see what the next few months bring to my overall health.
