Daughter needed several books for college music lessons. This was one; arrived fast and exactly what we ordered. She uses it often.

The Drumset Musician covers all the basics in a manner that gets you up-and-running quickly. The coolest thing is accessing examples via Playback+: Slow audio without changing pitch, set A/B loops, change keys, etc. IMHO you really don’t need to hire a teacher because of this. After completing The Drumset Musician on your own, take a little of the money you didn’t spend on lessons and purchase The Drummer’s Toolbox by Brandon Toews. You’re all set now, everything else is icing on the cake.

This is a great book to bring beginners to an early intermediate level. The book is laid out in an easy to follow level by level format. It covers independence and the beats and styles needed to play to songs, and includes play along material to help students implement what they have learned.Highly recommend for teachers to use with beginning students.

I have been teaching with this book for years. The 2nd edition is slightly different with online access to the songs. The book moves at a good pace and is thorough. Some books just glance over things and move too fast. This book teaches the student beats that are used in the real world.

My kids enjoy learning music from these books!They say it’s easy to learn.

Love the book 📖, but not able to download the tracks that come with the purchase, disappointing.
