Fantastic product and service from the company too. I bought these reading rules to help my son with learning from home.My youngest son is 5 years old and in year 1 - he is a summer baby so the youngest child in his year group which hadn't been a problem in nursery or reception years. However after starting year 1 in September he began to really struggle with the work because he described the letters as "wobbly" and "dancing" and said it was too hard - I asked in October for a dyslexia screening but his teacher said he couldn't have dyslexia at his age and was just lazy and could do the work if he tried. Over the months since I've done my best to help him without causing him additional stress as he was certainly getting enough of that at school so we have done lots of play based activities to help which he understands and does well in but when it comes to his reading books or work from school he struggles reading the words by muddling up the letters e.g 'dog'>'god'I have persisted with my concern that dyslexia is in fact the root of this problem and his teacher said she would only put him forward for screening if his sight and hearing had been checked first (which we did and were both clear in February)An appointment was due to be made for him before the easter break which didn't happen due to the school closing in the current pandemic.Now as a parent trying to support my son with his learning at home until school is re-opened I chose to buy a dyslexia aid - these reading rulers, to see if they might help him and reduce the stress involved in convincing him to try to read himself as I do not have the means or knowledge to test him myself I thought providing him the tools that may help him would be the best strategy - to support and ease his difficulty rather than focus on or wait for 'diagnosis'.The rulers were an immediate hit - they are well made, a good size, have a variety of colours and the line to support guiding which line of text he is on is really helpful. He has a preference for the green but has found that if reading in the garden in the sun he likes to change to a darker colour like dark blue or red. He is now able to read the whole sentence without all the jumbling up or upset using the phonics knowledge he has already secured.Thank you so much!

These rulers are perfect for anyone who suffers with Dyslexia. I have two children that love reading. Whilst they are not dyslexia, they sometimes struggle to follow along the same line and make out each word correctly. These rulers were perfect at helping them read more concisely. My children absolutely loved using these rulers. What was even better is that the pack comes in 10 different colours – meaning that they got to choose what colour ruler they wanted to use, as well as use them at the same time when reading to me and their dad.I even had a go at using the rulers, just to see whether it made any difference to my reading. Purchase for my daughter who has an autism diagnosis. She is very bright and loves reading but lately became less bothered about it after discussing with her and support worker to try h these she finds the yellow really makes a difference and she said she can concentrate more and take in the reading. My daughter is 14 and does not have any other conditions so goes to show they can help anyone
