Poor customer service
Although we have like the product, we have had an issue with one of the bats and have called customer service 10 times over the past six weeks. We can’t get through to any one and voicemail boxes are full so we can’t leave a message. Very frustrating and the issue is still outstanding.

Expensive set of aluminum youth baseball bats, with a DVD
My SKLZ training system actually arrived with a DVD that was entirely demolished during shipping. The case was cracked into numerous pieces, and the DVD itself was smashed. I believe it was due to the bats sliding around and just crushing the heck out of the DVD case. I sent SKLZ a request for a replacement, and haven't heard back from them. Seeing the other reviews, the DVD is probably well worth watching. That said, the bat training system seems insanely overpriced. It really is just a set of 3 aluminum baseball bats with different configurations. One has the weight at the very end of the barrel (end loaded), another has the weight at the base of the grip, and one doesn't have any extra weighting. Swinging the 3 bats, it is easy to figure out which swings the fastest (no extra weighting), and which swings the slowest but is most stable (end loaded).SKLZ has similar training products for golf clubs where the end loading creates lag and is supposed to help improve timing and build strength. Another side of the training camp believes that using a lighter "club" for overspeed training is necessary to improve swing speed. I've tried it both ways and really didn't feel much of an improvement using them for several weeks.Honestly, for the asking price of this system I could buy several aluminum baseball bats and just spend time practicing at a batting cage and working on different techniques. Even a high-end composite slow-pitch softball bat isn't as expensive as this training system. My Easton L5.0 USSSA was less than half the price of this training system.Overall: 3/5 stars, mine arrived with a demolished DVD and SKLZ hasn't responded with instructions on obtaining a replacement. Way overpriced for a set of 3 aluminum baseball bats with slightly different weighting configurations. Cheap lead tape can probably do the same trick on some old bats.UPDATE 5 APR 2015:I was able to get ahold of someone at SKLZ and they shipped me a new DVD. The production quality is quite good and the tips/drills are worthwhile to watch. I still feel that this training system is way too expensive for what is essentially 3 aluminum bats with different weighting setups. SKLZ does come out with a lot of innovative training items of good quality, so I hope they keep these ideas flowing out to the market.

Improved my stance
These SKLZ Ammo Bats are great quality aluminum training bats. The finish on them is superb, and they feel great in the hands due to the rubberized grip tape. I was provided the Pro 32-inch system for review. While it's stated to be a 29 ounce system, none of the bats actually weighed that amount, so I'm not really sure what they're referring to. FYI, the normal bat weighs 23oz (~658 grams) and the head-weighted and hand-weighted bats both weigh 35oz (~1000 grams).I've only been using these bats for 3 weeks, and you're supposed to see an improvement in swing speed in 6 weeks if you follow the training system detailed in the included DVD. Honestly, I can't say whether my swing speed has become much faster at this point - I don't have access to something that would measure that. But I have noticed that my form has improved, thanks in part to the video tutorials and due to the weighting of the bats. The lopsided feel of the bats really makes me focus on my stance and swing. But for what these are, they're a rather expensive training tool. Yes, they are very nice and sleek bats, and will probably improve your game. And they're not as expensive as say the Louisville Slugger Omaha, which costs almost as much for 1 bat. But if you're new to this area, you might want to start with something like the Hitting Jack-It for about 1/8 of the price.

this training video is painfully boring to watch but necessary to get full value from ...
Due to changes in my 13 year old son's league he went from using a -11 bat to a -3 and his swing suffered greatly! While we have not yet completed the 6 week training program we can already see improvement in the speed of his swing from using these bats. We got him some Sklz impact wiffle balls to go along with it so he is able to practice in our street area(when we can't get to the park) without fear of broken windows. As most training videos are, this training video is painfully boring to watch but necessary to get full value from the bats. The bats are nicely made aluminum bats. Each bat serves a different purpose in the training program. They come with a fairly hefty price tag. Only you can decide if it's worth the price to improve yours or your child's batting. I do believe the system does what it says if used properly.Be advised you will need an adjustable tee to utilize this system in the manner the video dictates.
