I like it a lot.
In Yes Minster, Sir Humphrey had a rule of thumb that you could tell how much a government announcement meant by saying the exact opposite and asking if anyone would ever consider doing that. The same is true with beauty products. This hand cream boasts an "ultra active formula" (as opposed to a completely inactive one, presumably), and it supports your "skin’s microbiome in the most gentle and effective way possible" (and not the roughest, least effective way). So, as with almost all beauty products, you need to have a strong stomach to get past all the guff they write on the box.And once you get past that, this is really rather nice. Others have commented on the smell being quite strong, but I rather liked it, and the smell goes within a minute or two of being rubbed in. It is absorbed very easily and quickly, and doesn't leave your hands greasy afterwards like some creams can. It feels pleasant and your hands don't feel dry afterwards.Does it really increase the hydration of my skin by 27% four hours later? Who knows (indeed, who could ever tell)? And you can only tell if these things work over long periods by using them for long periods. I have used this tester a few times. And I like it a lot. But will I pay 11.50 for a pretty small tube in the long term? Probably not. If they could get the price down, then I think I might give it the final star.

So is this product any good? Firstly may I say that I doubt that ...
I am a man who has quite rough hands. I have rarely used hand cream, however, some years ago, whilst in the Army, we did use a hand cream without scent to protect our hands whilst operating in adverse weather conditions! I decided to select this item based upon the fact that my hands are visibly showing the signs of age, exacerbated I believe through me exposing them daily to the elements, but also using a swimming pool three times a week. It is on that basis I have been protecting my skin for some time, with both a men's facial cream and a moisturiser after swimming. So is this product any good? Firstly may I say that I doubt that anyone can honestly say that this item works without weeks of use; I may be wrong, but.......... In my case I can only comment on my impressions of the cream, its application and the suggested benefits. For £11.90 (23rd February 2017) you receive a 50ml tube of cream. The cream is very heavily scented, but after application the scent diminishes down to a subtle hint after a couple of minutes, the scent and the colour of the cream is reminiscent of peach/apricot and whilst I wouldn't choose it, it is not upleasant and barely noticeable after application. The description on the tube talks about pre-biotics, pro-biotics and protecting my microbiome - I haven't looked up what these means, I simply assume that my skin will be protected. So why 4 stars, not 3 or 5? May I say that I like this hand cream, it absorbs quickly, leaves a barely noticeable scent and is absorbed quickly into my skin. Whilst the palms and work focussed aspects of my hands remain unchanged, after a few applications, I do feel that the skin on the back of my hands seems to be responding positively to the treatment. I have decided to deduct a star on the basis of cost. I do like it, but would I pay £11.90 for it on a regular basis; I believe a tube would last for around a month with daily applications - a little does go a long way.Personally I would buy it if it cost less, but at £11.90, being a man, I would have to look elsewhere. For the discerning female, it might be the thing for you.

Good, French hand cream, long-lasting and non greasy too.
Gallinee Hand Cream - 50ml. Well, a little perturbed that I have been sent a tube to review that's already been opened or has leaked around the top. A shame because reading the blurb it is 'up my street'.I.e. not loaded with parabens; although some fairly unfamiliar ingredients are listed including various alcohols. It says daisy extract but I couldn't see that mentioned. Then lactic acid, which would explain the pre-probiotics. My instinct tells me it's far better to eat and digest probiotics (since they are utilised in the gut) rather than smear them on your hands. So - as a hand cream it works very well. I didn't find it all gloopy and greasy like a lot of the high street stuff. It is absorbed very quickly and with no residue. After an hour or so my hands still felt moisturised.Reading other reviews, there is a distinctive perfume but I didn't find it that offensive. Refreshing / citrussy / herby that tended to fade out after 10 minutes and I forgot all about it.I gave it 4 stars because I think as a hand cream it works - and long term over several hours. I have not seen any astounding change in my hands over the few days I have used it. But then as a cook ... for umpteen years I am not expecting much and the dry crepiness has improved. The product lost a star - because it arrived looking as if it had been opened - and the price is a bit ambitious. For this is the price I pay for my luxurious, organic lotions and potions. Still, it's a lot better than supermarket stuff that is cheap and needs to be reapplied every 15 minutes and can be full of chemicals and synthetic fragrances.

Lovely, nourishing hand cream.
I liked the idea of a hand cream with natural pH and that, although it has been dermatologically tested, it was not tested on animals. So had to give it a go. And I am glad I did. I was a little unsure after reading others' comments about the smell, but despite normally having issues with 'parfum' being nasty and headache-inducing, this version is not so bad. The cream is soft and smooth, goes on and soaks in very well indeed, leaving the skin feeling beautiful and soft - and nourished. I have dry, crepey skin as I am over the hill, and I found it really made a positive difference. And yes, there is a smell, and it is on the stinky-parfum continuum, but it is slightly different to the usual one (i.e. the one that L'Oreal and others use) - and not as nasty or as strong - at least to me. We are, after all, all different. So I will continue to use it quite happily. But I would say that, if you are sensitive to smells, it is worth checking to make sure you are not sensitive to the perfume smell before you buy it. Just to be sure.
