Q: How does the consistency compare to the tiger nuts that are not shelled? Are these easily chewed?

I can not compare them as I only used the Anthony brand. Its hard to say about them being easily chewed as I enjoy eating things that are extra crunchy. I found them to be a nice snack. But I mainly us them to make Horchata. I also dry the left over bits after grinding them down to use for pie shells.

Q: Why is there a prop 65 California warning on these tiger nuts?

There is a special warning on EVERYTHING shipped to and sold in California. There is no sane rhyme or reason. California is an uber regulatory socialist state moving towards communism. They regulate EVERYTHING. That's all you really need to know.

Q: Are these returnable? so many say they are rancid or too hard to chew.

They are chewy and I invested and found that they are often soaked. That is how I solved the problem. Added then to Oatmeal etc
