Hammer Stahl Kitchen Shears

I've owned these for a year now. The are still sharp and working well. I was just buying a pair for my RV and wondered how anyone was giving a 1-star rating to this excellent tool. You just have to laugh at idiots, but I'll try to help. The shears did not break!! They are designed to come apart for easy cleaning!!! If they didn't, you would never get the raw chicken juice out of the hinge after you cut up the bird. It does not take a rocket scientist to put them back together, just knowledge of how scissors are supposed to look and some common sense: blades facing each other, the round peg goes in the round hole, then close them. They are absolutely dishwasher safe. My job is done here.

I bought these and the Oxo scissors. Both scissors are great, though the Oxo's are less expensive. However, the Hammer Stahls are worth the extra cost. While the size of the handles are the same on both scissors and fit just fine in my hands (I am a universal size M), the Hammer Stahls offer a pleasantly comfortable, sturdy grip. Also, there is a nut cracker on the Hammer Stahls, which I also found useful for opening the lids of glass bottles. I was worried about the tool on the handle that sticks out bothering me when using the scissors, but somehow it is nowhere near my hand to bother--no effort needed to think about avoiding. Plus, these are lifetime guaranteed and come in a fancy case that can be used to protect your scissors should you either need to move residences, or if you want to fancily store them. Of course, it's a nice box if you are gifting them to someone.The handles on the Hammer Stahls also match my curved chicken/bone cutting scissors, so a bonus perk on my end.Both Hammer Stahl and Oxo scissors are nice and sharp. Both also state not to leave out to dry, though I accidentally did that with both at one point (oops!). Interestingly, the Oxos ended up rusting on the interior hinge part, though the rust is only visible when the scissor pieces are separate. The rust also does not remotely affect their functionality or durability. No rust happened on the Hammer Stahls.Despite my slight rust issue with the Oxos, I ended up keeping them. I also kept the Hammer Stahls. If I could do it over again, I'd have only bought the Hammer Stahls. In the least, I now have more scissors than I could ever need, probably for the rest of my life, since I believe the Oxos also have a lifetime guarantee*Notably, both scissor packages have a point-of-no-return since they both require either opening up a red adhesive seal--the Hammer Stahls--or cutting off plastic clips--the Oxos--to try out. Amazon would have taken either back (I asked), esp. since one of mine had some slight rust within the return window (the Oxos)...but I chose to keep both (I happened to watch a few vids on what happens to Amazon's returns and simply could not let a good pair of scissors go to waste). Hopefully, this review will save someone the money, effort, and potential excess (or return waste) in buying two pairs of scissors b/c of indecision.

Awesome scissors. Love how you can take them apart to wash what would normally be hard to reach places.

These scissors were very well made ! Just too big for my aging hands. Had to return .

These cut through fingers with ease but not as well when you get to the Ulna and Radius.

I bought these for general purpose use around the house, and keep them in a kitchen drawer. They are sharp and work well. They come apart to clean and have a handy bottle opener. They easily cut through the thick plastic packaging that everything comes in these days and are truly stainless steel. I've put them through the dishwasher a bunch of times and they still look new. Buy a couple of pairs, because the kids are bound to walk off with them and they won't be in the drawer when you need them.
