Janod Picnic Hamper

I'm so disappointed; the set that I received was broken and had obviously been used (like actually played with a good deal). The attached picture shows what the picnic box looked like when I opened it for the first time. There was crayon on one of the cups and some of the utensils, chips on the wood, and the ribbon handle immediately popped off when I picked up the case! I am guessing that the vendor processed it as a return from another family and did not check it before sending it back out. I will, of course, be returning it. :(As for the item itself, it is a very sweet set for imaginative play. The pieces feel heavy duty and the included picnic cloth is a great touch! One thing that was disappointing is that the sides of the box do not have the adorable picnic weave design on them (instead they are white with the Janod logo, which you cannot tell from any of the photos on this website). I doubt a kid would mind, but the box felt a little less magical with a big logo on both sides.

My daughter received this picnic set as a Christmas present from our relatives. Ever since she got this set, she's been loving them and using them everyday. It is a very cute set, and we were very pleased by it until today.Today, my daughter came to me and said the paint is chipping off. I expect that any painted wooden toys will have some paint chipping issue as you play, which is not that big deal to me. However, for this time, it was a big deal and concerning. The cup she brought to me to look at it had some bubbling softened paint (and already started peeling off) all around the bottom of the cup. I asked her if she was licking it, and she did confirm she was. Apparently, once the paint get wet enough, it starts dissolving. For being a toddler toy that can be licked time by time, I didn't expect that paint can dissolve in a child's mouth! I'm pretty sure that my daughter probably swallowed some of the paint or dissolved chemicals, I am now taking all the cups away from her (possibly utensils too). I don't know if Janod uses same paint for the utensils (which has higher possibility of being licked by a kid), but regardless, now I am not comfortable for my kid to play with them. If you are buying this set for your kids, make sure your kids don't put them in their mouth. THE PAINT MELTS in a kid's mouth!

My daughter received this set as a gift and has had a lot of fun playing with it. The pieces are durable and very charming and I loved that they came in bright colors ( red and lime green vs. pink or purple), that they are made of wood, and that they don't have characters or logos on them. They are sized for small hands and are the perfect size to use with the Educo wooden food that she received along with this picnic set.The only downsides we've experienced with this set are the durability of the carrying case (or lack thereof) and the fact that these pieces can't really be used to eat or drink from (this complaint is from my small daughter who wants to use them for tea parties like we do with her porcelain set). The carrying case is made of cardboard and the hinge is paper tape and ribbon. Even though used carefully, the hinges disintegrated and the box had to be discarded. (To me it wasn't worth repairing because using the case also required a particular arrangement of the contents in order for it to close, and that was impossible for my daughter to do independently at this stage of her coordination. It wasn't all that easy for me to get the cutlery back into the elastic bands in the case either.)All in all it's a sweet little set and now that she's accepted that it's for pretend only (no real eating or drinking), my daughter is happy with it too and uses it frequently.

I got this picnic set for my granddaughter and it's really cute but I don't understand why there are 2 HOLES in every cup??As far as cuteness, it is adorable but just looks funny with the holes in the cups. Is there a reason for this? Or are they rejects?

Es tal cúal la foto pero no me gusta que tienen 2 agujeritos en cada vaso y las gomas de la caja para guardar se aflojaron al día siguiente.

I colori non sono brillanti come in foto, ma "matti", spenti, opachi, tristi. La tovaglietta è un triste quadrato di stoffa... I bicchieri sono minuscoli. L'unica cosa che mi è piaciuta di questo set è la valigetta contenitrice. Una delusione.

Les verres sont tous arrivés troués alors que sur l’image ce n’est pas le cas. De plus l’orifice est coupant donc potentiellement dangereux?Est-il possible de remplacer les verres uniquement? Le jouet ayant été ouvert le soir de Noël ?

Fabuloso. Calidad precio genial. Mi hija está contentísima. Todo de madera a tamaño pequeñito pero muy funcional. Ahora hacemos picnic a diario!!
