Great for fast target acquisition and fast follow up shots!
These are great sights. Installing the front sight was very difficult. Removing the stock sights was a severe pain. Once I got the Xs Big Dots on, I headed out to the range. If you are used to three dot sights, you will have to train a lot with these sights to get used to them. You have to place the big dot over the target and cover your point of aim, otherwise you will shoot low. Repeat shots come very fast as you can quickly acquire the front sight and have it on target much faster than with three dot sights. In darkness, you will only see a small front dot, and the rear notch does not illuminate. This was a disappointment as I expected to see a big dot in darkness as well. I feel that these are the best sights that I've ever had on a concealed carry handgun. If you are looking for sights for a range gun, you should look elsewhere. In my opinion three dot fiber optic sights are more accurate at long distances. If you want sights that you can acquire and have on target fast, these are for you.

Great sights!
So first off, these sights are outstanding. For those who think this can't be used for distance shooting, I center punched a bulls eye at 40, 45, 50, and 60 feet, with a decent 8 inch grouping of about 5 rounds on each target. I can't do that with 3-dots. For CQB, the sight acquisition with these is so fast and easy it's almost kinda stupid. Now for the reason this only gets 4 stars. Installing these sights is a pain in the ass. I ordered some punches also from Amazon, and they were weak and also marred the front sight just a bit. Not exactly a huge deal, and not XS's fault. It was actually pretty easy to install them without a sight pusher or armor's block. The rough part was making sure they're zeroed. Here's what SHOULD be done:-The instructions tell you NOT to apply the adhesive before zeroing. That is good advice.- With that considered, there is a tiny little allen wrench in the packaging. When you go to the range to test them out, TIGHTEN the little tension screw after EVERY shot. If not, then yes, your rear sight just may fly off.- If you pay attention to the above, it should be easy to get them tightened down and adhered. After applying the pink adhesive, I have not had any problems with drifting sights. The only other thing I could suggest is to occasionally put some CLP on the sights because I did notice some very light rust.Otherwise, these are some of the best handgun sights you can buy.

Great sights!
I have only had these sights for a little over a month but so far they are awesome! They make it very easy drawling from your holster and getting on target fast and switching from target to target quickly. Hitting a bullseye at 10 yards is very easy with the sights. The glow on the front sight at night is pretty good as well. I would recommend these sights to anyone!

It does work good for close range snap shooting
I feel that they are made with quality. I use meprolights on all of my other firearms. The front dot (night sight part) is smaller than I am used to. I also found that the single line in the back is not as accurate as a three dot system. It does work good for close range snap shooting. I feel that the issue is more me and my habits than the system.

Back sight slide off at range.
Lets start with the front sight replacement(full size M&P 9mm) first. It is VERY VERY difficult to remove. It does require a vice. I'd rather not have to clamp down on the slide but you do and you have clamp it very firmly in order to remove the front sight. I used some carpet pieces on the jaws to keep it from getting scratched. (Slide removed from gun) I tried a brass punch but all I got from that was some brass shavings. I ended up heating the front sight with the tip of a low watt solder gun (just hot to the touch - sight only) and used a hardned steel hinge pin from a commercial door and a regular size hammer to knock it out. If you are wondering the front sight is press fit into the slide and slides (beat out) out from the side. This all ended up taking a long time. The instructions for the rear sight side to use the set screw from the original sight but this was not possible because the threaded hole was to small. The new back sight already had a teeny tiny set screw in it. I wondered why the sight came with an Allen wrench its to fit the teeny tiny set screw. Removal of the rear sight is easy just be careful not to loose the spring tensioner under the sight. It slides out with a couple of light taps. I slid in the new rear sight and tightened down the tiny set screw with the tiny Allen wrench. Went to the Range and after a few rounds the sight came loose. I had the wrench with me because the whole purpose of being their was to sight in the gun. I tried to tightened it down some more but the screw was stuck in the sight. Cross threaded nope. The set screw was already below the the top of the sight - too far in to be crossed threaded and go in that easy. Had to be bad threads cut from the factory towards the bottom of the threaded hole or maybe not threaded far enough which is what in think. I was so mad I took the gun home and put on the old rear sight and have not tried to mess with the screw in the new rear sight yet. It was a very embarrassing trip to the Range. All I can tell you is without a rear sight guns are much less accurate. GRRRR

The big dot sight is awesome though my accuracy is up and i can find ...
A nightsight without tritium rear sight makes no sense. Pic even shows tritium rear but they dont exist for m&p. The big dot sight is awesome though my accuracy is up and i can find sight picture much quicker.

GREAT SIGHT!
GREAT SIGHT!!!!! Fast target acquisition, and easy to get used to. This sight is not intended for bull's-eye shooting. This is intended for self-defense and fast targeting in a life or death situation. I do not mean to sound like this sight is not accurate because it is, however this is better served on your self defense / EDC pistol, not on your IDPA tack driver. Make a "lollipop" out of the sights, and you will hit your target every time!Easy install, and I would not change these sights for anything!!
