QUALITY HAVE A NAME: "SONY"
SOUND: Music sounds clean, clear, and balanced, with a nice presence on the low-end,rich mids, and detailed highs, complemented with a good bass response.Includes a variety of sound-enhancement options, including four presets and two, five-band custom Equalizer,so if the flat setting doesn't do it for you, you should have no problem tweaking the sound to your liking.DESIGN/USE: The walkman is lightweight almost 2 ounces. Has a fairly standard design, which isn't necessarily a bad thing,as it makes the player very straight forward to operate.Below the screen are the main playback controls: a five-way control pad, a back/home button, and an OPTION/PWR/HOLD key that brings up various contextual menus.Getting music and other content(video, photos) onto the player is an easy process it works with a variety of jukeboxes (such as Windows Media Player or !Tunes), or you can use the Sony Content Transfer app, which allows for drag and drop from your hard drive. This walkman have a FM radio too.BATTERY LIFE: Listen MP3 music around 25 hours, but some settings affect battery life: equalizer, brightness, screensaver.OVERALL: A good MP3 player for a reasonable price for: listen music in the house, running or go to the Gym.

Great MP3 player
I debated about getting this one for several reasons. At first, I wasn't sure it was compatible to my last one. Second, would it be as durable and easy to use. Lastly was it tech friendly. Because I'm not a big tech person I felt this MP3 was going to work. I was glad I bought it. Yes, the toggle button seems to be a bit touch-y. but other than I am extremely happy that I purchased this.

Does what I want
Sound is great. Keep in mind, I don't need it to do much. Just download songs and play them, maybe on shuffle. Can play through my external speakers I use for my laptop.Loading songs is simple- drag and drop. You can only delete when hooked up to a computer, but then deleting is easy. The battery is charged when hooked to a computer with the enclosed cable. If you pause a song, then ignore it for about half a minute or so it turns itself off to save battery power, so the battery is conserved well. Technically it only goes to hold, like sleep, but it works. Simple and to the point. It's little, so I suggest attaching to a lanyard or something. I used a carabiner I had lying around.

DO NOT BUY THIS
my sony nwz-e354 stopped working so i purchased this nwz-e374 expecting similar functionality. the devices are about the same size, the newer nwz-e374 has a slightly shorter screen however the horizontal width is the same. there are fewer, about half the options available in this newer device from e354, from eq settings to general settings and this is where problems begin. e374 has no option to turn off scrolling artist, album, song titles, the e354 did and i prefer scrolling turned off.the auto sort mood playlist feature is missing replaced by shuffle all. the clock time is not displayed at the top of the screen like the old player. this is a problem if you use it to check the time often which i do or did. to check the time you press play and a hold message appears telling you to press and hold the power button, then you must press option and select clock display this becomes a 30 second process where as with the other player even in hold mode you pressed play to activate the screen and time is available.the major deal breaker is no boundary selection option and by default the player is in selected range vs all range. so if you select an artist for instance avicii and then play "wake me up" in normal playback mode the song will play and stop instead of continuing on to the next artist. whether you select an artist or an album it will only play with in the selected boundary which means you constantly have to pull it out of your pocket and select a new range or use the shuffle all feature or the entire song range. the reason this is a problem is i need to be able to select a starting point and listen for 10, 15, 30 minutes without having to fiddle with the device every 3 minutes at work.i also used the sleep function quite a bit on the e354. on the e374 when you engage the sleep function whether it is 30-90 minutes the device locks you into your current range regardless of whether you have one song or many songs in that range as the back button and option button engage a menu that tells you sleep mode is on and asks you if you want to turn it off. your only control while sleep mode is engaged is over the volume and skipping tracks within your selected boundary.if you pause your music the device will turn itself off after a time requiring you to deactivate the hold function to turn it back on this is a constant hassle when you need to pause to communicate you can't just press play to restart your music if you wait to long.this device also has issues with its mtp connection, the older e354 when connected to my linux computer i can listen to the music on the device with banshee media player. banshee will not recognize the e374. this device is only recognized as removable storage.there is no sony support. no updated firmware. no rockbox.i payed same price for the e354 as i did the e374 and besides terrible playlist support which requires you to create and transfer playlist from your computer, it was a decent device with good batter life and lasted me a couple of years. though it is a minor quibble considering i am returning it anyways, the e374's build quality is very plasticy and feels fragile in your hand. i doubt it would survive as many drops as my e354.my personal experience with the e374 coming from the older version has been in every way limiting and frustrating and overall the worst experience with an mp3 player or a sony device ever. i would not recommend it to anyone or curse my worst enemy with such a terrible device.save yourself the monies and the hassle, do not buy this. basic functionality is broken.
