Seriously Tough Product
First off, the packaging is top notch. Two cardboard shells offered protection from our gorilla-like USPS employees we all have in our communities. Outer housing isn't some cheap aluminum, it's got some serious thickness (1.2mm / .050") to it. The thickness will undoubtedly help carry heat away from the NVME chips. The housing slides over the NVME and there are no fasteners required to keep it in place, but there are 2 countersunk screws provided if you do choose to use them. Fit and finish are spot on. My previous NVME adapter you had to dismantle with 2 screws and it was a pain. Inside there's a bit of wise mechanics. There's a plastic lever that pushes up on the back of the circuit board that holds the NVME, it pushes upwards so the SSD seats against the housing. Using the included heat tape is a must. The only thing I'd like to see is additional pieces of heat tape. A blue indicator light flashes when there's activity hooked up to your PC.A tiny phillips screwdriver is also supplied. Overall this is a very nice piece of kit. On future versions, I'd like to see a blind screw hole to keep extra screws and brass sockets, as I had to use an unused circuit board hole to keep the unused (extra) screws and brass sockets from getting lost. This is going to go in a mobile kit that's going to see a lot of service calls.

Compact, thermally conductive, easy to assemble, practical......
Excellent, compact and easy to use aluminum enclosure with good heat transfer between an m.2 SSD and the case. It also has a nice hefty feel vs plastic although that's purely subjective. Comes with extra mounting hardware for the device and both a Type A to Type C and a Type C to Type C short (about 8"each) cable. A (blue) LED illuminates a good sized chevron that lets you know it's connected and that blinks during data transfer. The case can get hot with larger capacity/higher speed M.2's which means it is transferring heat from the memory device to the outer case where it can dissipate away. Some people will downgrade this as though it's a bad thing, but a hot case just means it's working/doing its job to transfer heat away from your device. The case is lightly textured aluminum, but flat on both sides, so if the surface temperature is too much of an issue, you can figure out how to mount an exterior heat sink with a thermal pad or some thermal paste.I'm just using mine as externally mounted local storage on a NAS for my Roon music server's database, so I'm only housing a 128Gig M.2 that I need to connect via a USB 3.2 and it stays on the high side of warm to the touch. So far every negative review I have read is complaining about either an incorrect assumption of what they received and how it works or a misunderstanding of high capacity and/or high speed solid state storage thermal characteristics. This is an excellent, elegantly designed product that does what it is supposed to and comes complete with necessary hardware including a small screwdriver for the one screw and standoff to mount the memory and if desired, a second screw to lock the case. It's the top seller for a reason, despite not being the lowest cost. Buy it and stop agonizing over the huge number of other products out there.

I feel much more confidence in this housing over my previous one.
I use this to house a 2 TB NVME drive that I take to the local library almost every week. I had another brand I used for about a year which began regularly giving me errors when I tried to connect to my desktop. It required me to run a diagnostic and repair the drive every time I disconnected it. Though most of it is backed up, I was getting worried that I could lose the 1 and a half TB of database I have been building. I replaced the housing with this one which seems sturdier and the connectors are more secure. In the months I have been using this one I have not had to run diagnostics or repair the drive even one time.
