Anchor Hocking 4.8 Quart Rectangular Glass Baking Dish (1 piece, tempered tough, dishwasher safe)

I regularly feed a dozen or more when our family gathers for weekly dinners. I needed a dish large enough to accommodate 5 hungry men and their wives and children. This was exactly what I was looking for and at a great price.

This pan is perfect for traditional lasagna. It's harder to find the larger ones like this anymore.

I had a couple sizes of glass pans already purchased in the past but was looking for close to 5 quart glass baking dish and found that this size was perfect in length and depth for long oven baking that held the food really well and tenderized chicken and potatoes really well when covered with aluminum foil. 10/10 must have size for decent amount of food for family meals that last a few days, many portions.

Anchor Hocking has LONG been my "go-to" brand for glass-ware, and this didn't disappoint. Have been using it for many months now and it's just as good as it was the day it arrived. What makes it all the better is that Anchor Hocking is Made In USA so I trust it's proper quality, with no "secret ingredients" or "treatments" (as I've found to be the case with "imported" glass-ware).Arrived carefully packed and ready to go (after the usual preliminary wash).Really IS a great buy! (I have TWO that I got through Amazon and BOTH are of equal value.)

I was taking another glass baking dish next to it out of my storage cabinet, when I barely touch this Anchor Hocking Oven Basics 4.8-quart Glass Baking Dish, Rectangular with the other glass dish. This Anchor Hocking dish was not dropped or banged into and was firmly resting on a rubber bottom of the storage cabinet. It was like I touched a sweet spot and it exploded or shattered in a hundred SHARP shards of glass. No big pieces? All very sharp. No way is this tempered glass. 70% of the pieces of glass stayed in the cabinet, but about 30% of these sharp shards of glass came flying out with force. One sharp piece impaled itself into the top of my foot. It was a deep cut and I lost a good bit of blood and needed to be treat by a doctor. I had this product for less than 6 months. I would never buy this brand again. I am in my fifties and cook all the time. I have never experience glass breaking this way before. This is a SAFTEY HAZARD and no one should have this product in their house. I am not looking for a refund or replacement. I just don't want any one else to get hurt.
