Fell short of expectations.
I normally don't leave reviews, but this product had such a large gap between reality and expectations that a review is probably necessary. This product falls between the 2 star 'i don't like it' and the 3 star 'it's ok'. It's not to say that the company can't easily fix the issues because most of my beef is with the software user experience side.I bought this to help manage guests so I do not have to deal with physical keys. Lockitron is back ordered until November, so I decided to try this product.Installation - fairly simple and straight forward except that the 1st time around I tightened down too much on the module to the backing plate and the knob was very difficult to turn. Once I let off on the torque on the module, it was able to move the lock. It doesn't sound perfectly smooth, but that might just be my setup.Their email support is actually really fast to respond and this is beyond their phone support hours. However they are accomplishing this, keep it up. Hopefully that can be maintained as the company grows as would expect them to so long as they are able to execute on user feedback.Somewhere in the beginning instructions it would be nice to have an overview for setup to say that the system needs a smartphone for setup. If I missed it, perhaps it could have been made clearer. The need for more clarity can be said for the instructions as a whole. 1st time setup requires creating an account on the web, then using the smartphone for syncing if you do not have the gateway. You have to register all the rfid keys through the web portal too. Characters such as the letter 'O' and the number '0' should never be used in the same string. Usage of confusing characters should be mutually exclusive. This cause some challenges during setup. There some other tasks and usage flows on the website that can be improved upon as well.Guest SetupHere are the steps needed to get a guest smartphone setup:Create a user in the okidokey portal.Enter in user's contact info.User receives an email to be linked to the portal.User has to setup an account with the okidokey portal.User receives an email to verify the account they just setup.User has to download the app and only then can the user open the door. This is far too many steps. Most guests barely read instructions prior to arrival, and to sit in front of the door to do the registration, confirmation etc etc on a tiny phone screen is irritating.Setup for guests w/o a bt smartphone - nice feature to haveEnter the user's contact info and user receives a text w/ a ph# to call and a pin to use. The reader uses the pin tones from the phone to unlock the door. The user then dials the pin to the reader to unlock the door. The only problem is with nearly half of the guests coming from foreign countries, none have cellular service due to the cost.CostsWithout the gateway, each time there's a user or rights change, a smartphone with the app and within bluetooth range has to be used to sync the lock. With a gateway, this can be accomplished remotely. Put this into perspective with costs in mind.Okidokeys Lock $180-$190 ala carte . Gateway $140 ala carte. Total $320ish for a lockitron($180) capable equivalent. Package deal w/ the exterior reader ($350-360). I am assuming that this gateway can also communicate with their smart-gate and smart-garage door controllers, but I don't have either so it is of no benefit to me.All in all, there's improvements that can be made. It's just too early in the maturity of the product for me to accept the product. I'd rather have a wifi enable key pad where the access codes can be managed remotely. The search for a solution continues.....

Nicely designed.
I tested it as soon as it arrived, it works via Bluetooth, the lock is added to your existing dead lock similar to August lock, the other feature to send a key to anyone without a smart phone is kind of cool but because I live in Australia its a bit of problem because the number you need to dial from your phone in order to open or lock the door is a USA number, I checked it and it worked. You call the number sent via sms to the phone, can be smart phone or non smart and doesn't need Internet for it to work, input the 4 digit code that was sent to you via the program and put phone on speaker and placed near the Okidokey access device, then you hear a voice similar to old dialup modems talking to the access device to unlock or lock the door. Press 1 to lock and 3 to unlock the door using your phone.Every time you add a card or delete a card you need to Sync it to the system with your app and smart phone present near the main lock.

Garbage Product, Save your money!
If this product had possible Negative Stars, I'd give it TEN! Horrible inconsistent instructions that assume you designed it therefore you should understand it. Nowhere does it clearly explain how it communicates other than Bluetooth and "possibly" NFC. The instructions are poor, vague, and you need a magnifying glass to read them.Housings are cheap plastic and definitely not a secure product. Manufacturer fails to explain the need for "registering" the product online and how to synchronize it or for that matter how it even works. This is obviously a repackaged OEM product made by some outfit in Spain like Goji. They also have a very similar product that is quite vague and not ready for market.I have spent the better part of 72 hours trying to install this to no avail. As an electrical engineer and IT professional, I feel that of all people this would be easy for me. It is not. The web portal is buggy, lackluster, and inconsistent. The Android app rarely functions and has the reliability of a three legged horse.Sorry to ramble, but this product is not only a waste of money, but a waste of my time.

Not bad, but not what I expected.
Really nice idea. It's very nice you can control those keys and know who open the lock by the phone on line. However, the main reason I decide to return this product is the hand-free function sometime doesn't work. And, You need to wait the device to connect to your phone, it take around 5 -10 sec. I can open my door using traditional key by 1-2 sec...not what I expected before I bought. If Okidokeys can make faster response model,I will buy it.

Pass
It was cool when first installed. Worked great. I had a very hard time connecting the fob, card and bracelet to the reader. After about the first week it started to become very inconsistent. Auto unlock would not work as you approached the front door. Some times you would end up standing there waiting for it to connect. Most of the time I got fed up and used my key. Returned this product after about three weeks. Not worth the money.

Great lock!!
The Okidokeys access pack along with the classic lock is great! I was able to install it myself and I have NO experience with this type thing. I love it and find it very convenient, attractive and so far no downsides other than there is a short, 2-3 second delay when opening after activating it. I would recommend the access pack as the card, fob and wrist band are far quicker and more convenient than getting my phone out of my purse.Stacy
