A fun book to read for the 5-9 year old set. Even if you don't have time to do all the fun projects that can be made - a sundial, wax writing tablet, legionary's helmet and shield, all kinds of clothing accessories, Latin wall signs and names, etc. - the story of a young Roman boy and girl, and all they experience with those they come in contact with is a fabulous way to learn about Ancient Roman life from a child's perspective.

I bought this for my daughter to come up with a sixth grade project for her country report. She had picked Rome and we were going for a Roman soldier's gear and this book was incredibly detailed with those drawings. Yet, we found other great things inside and ending up making a Roman aqueduct instead, and this book inspired us to do that! It is written more on a middle school to early high school level, but an intelligent child will have no problem with it. And the pictures are awesome - detailed and colorful, hand drawn.

This book is set up in chapters, each chapter has a little info about life in Ancient Rome and then has crafts and activities to do for what that section talked about. Including things like making clay tablets, Dressing like a roman, etc. Worked great for homeschool RC History.

This is a great addition to our homeschooling library of history books regarding learning about a Ancient Rome. My kids are really enjoying the activities presented in this book and together we are learning so much about the Roman way of life from this time period.

So many wonderful projects and activities!! My students loved this book as we cleared through our ancient civilizations. WE also used an ancient civilizations activity book for other activities but this one had some real hands on creations for the boys to make.

I love how the factual information is brought to life through story and projects. My kids and I both enjoyed learning together about Ancient Rome. Teachers and homeschooling moms should grab this book up.

A little dated buy good

My daughter has the joy of two bright boys whom she wishes to steer away from persistent screentime. The older one is a Percy Jackson fan, and this book proved the perfect companion. The house was soon awash with models he completed.

This is the second book of Greek activities that I bought, and it is the best. A very wide range range of ideas, 30 in all, covering clothing, food, boats, olympics, and so on. Many of the activities suit me, as a teacher, as they crossover several curriculum areas. A good find.
