Cabot Labs Musk Oil 1/2 oz.

I read other reviews and the one that stuck out was a lady mentioning not sniffing the bottle and putting it on your skin first then waiting a minute.Of course, I sniffed the bottle, lol. I couldn't smell anything. Then I put it on my finger and dabbed on on my wrists rubbing it in. I didn't wait that minute either. I could already smell a faint damp woodsy scent. It lasted for ten seconds and disappeared into the lovliest clean skin musk with something ✨extra✨ Well, after that I put some behind my ears and on my chest. I could sense but I figured it'd just be a skin scent. I was in a small room painting my nails. I leave a while later to get a drink and when I came back to the room a beautiful scent was all I could smell. I was trying to remember if I had sprayed anything. I had put on a perfume earlier but it was spicy. What was hanging in the air was this little bottle of oil's fragrance.This oil is new to me but it shares something in common with Nemat's Amber and Kuumba Made's Persian Garden. It seems like some people can't smell them. Go look at the reviews. I had the Nemat one and I could smell that one too. I wish I knew why others can't smell these white amber oils. This Musk Oil has a scent. It smells sublime on me and works with my chemistry.I'd recommend this to anyone and everyone but it's like gambling. You might smell it you might not.

Wow, now their selling water and calling it musk oil. Absolutely zero scent. Even when I sniff from the bottle and nobody else can smell a thing either!Do Not Waste Your Money!I won't waste the gas to take this to UPS for return. It's garbage.

BLove love love this musk. It is the original from the 1960’s, 70’s! Company in CA went out of business many years ago I order directly from the company and was told by the lady working there to put it on a sunny window sill and it would enhance the smell. When you use it put on wrist and neck only a dab! You will probably not be able to smell it but others will, mostly men! Because it is made from Musk! I am 71 and I remember that wonderful clean smell! I’m sure it won’t be around long so i recommend to try it!

I tried this product based on reviews. Some bad but many more good. As several people mentioned there was no smell when I opened the bottle. I was a bit nervous. I tried it today. I dabbed a bit on my wrists and behind my ears and nothing, no scent, I was disappointed. Within maybe 5 mins of moving around I kept getting a subtle scent. Then I noticed it was me and the smell is absolutely delicious (that means I LOVE IT!). I am buying more just to make sure I don’t run out. It not strong, it’s just natural and subtle, just enough to be noticed.

I started using West Cabot original musk oil since 1971, because of the wonderful scent, and the fact that I couldn't smell it myself because I am allergic to perfumes, and I was complimented every single day for the wonderful, and clean scent.I was so afraid that one day I wouldn't find it that I bought enough to last me at least ten yrs. and about three yrs ago , when I ran out i bought it from Amazon, and found that the scent had been altered, now I buy some to use once in awhile, but I use other perfumes in between because I am not happy with the change in the scent,it was perfect the way it was do not understand why the scent was changed.All my friends that use it also feel the same way.Thank you for giving me the opportunity to express this!

I've seen a lot of reviews about the quality (floating specs of ?) and lack of smell. Here's the thing with this musk oil - it has no scent in the bottle. You may not even smell it on yourself at first. I've gotten so used to it I don't smell it on myself at all anymore, but everyone around me, including strangers standing in line at the store do, because they comment on it. I've been wearing this since about 1978 or 1979. I used to order directly from Cabot Labs (I think it was another name before Cabot though), but when I went to place an order (I ordered 10 at a time, 1 bottle lasts a long time) I found out the company is going out of business. I actually talked to someone there and told her "OMG you can't close, I've been wearing this scent since 1979, it's my scent" and she was very funny with her response: "You and every other woman on the east coast". We laughed because it's true, I'm from NY/NJ and have been wearing this since I was a teenager and in those days, the musk oil was made in W Hempstead, NY I believe. And it was very popular in NY. So when I found it here I bought a bunch. Yes, there are some kind of transparent floaters in there (breakdown of oil maybe?), but the smell is the same. Maybe the bottles are old but the scent is still the same. A coworker who brings his dog to work says the dog smells like me after I pet him. I was in the airport recently and a woman asked me what I was wearing.There's something about this oil that makes it a very individual scent so it doesn't smell the same on everyone. It's a light, clean smell that is not the typical overpowering musky scent.That said if you don't like them, please return them so I can buy them and have my stash for next 30 or so years.

I'm so disappointed. I expected this to be like the musk oil that I used as a teenager. Same, exact brand. It isn't. I put it on my wrists and 10 minutes later, there was no smell whatsoever. I don't recommend it. I won't return it, but it definitely isn't worth $27!

I've tried many musk oil formulas recently. This is the only one with true scent neutrality. It doesn't have much fragrance in the bottle but combines with skin to create a unique, pleasant scent. The original sensation from the 70s.
