seat
This was a perfect purchase for me.Got it at Dick's on sale, under $300.00. The staff at the Barboursville,W.Va.store 5*! And the yak is excellant.Would give it a 5,kind of deserves it anyway, but for the seat. Take it in consideration tho,I am a young 71yrs.,just a kid in an old body. I used it for flyfishing 2 times last summer, have not had any opportunities so far this yr.very busy. Fished all day 2nd time out,and the fish caught were surprisingly manageable, lost one smallie bout 5-6lbs. Dying to get back there,me,my rod and God.

Kayak is great, seat is terrible
The kayak is awesome. Cuts through the water well, tracks well, and is easy to maneuver. The only issue I've had with this kayak is the seat. The spine that holds the back in place broke after 3-4 trips. I only take it out on rivers, ponds and small lakes - no whitewater. I'm having a hard time finding a replacement seat for it. If it wasn't for the cheap (and uncomfortable, compared to other kayaks in this class) seat, it would be a 5 star kayak. If you buy this, I'd suggest seat padding and reinforcement.

Love it
This is season two for me and my kayaks. I bought mine on clearance at Dick's and brought an experienced kayaker with me who can guide me and speak to the salesman. This boat has ridges in the bottom which you need for effective tracking. It has plenty of room for carrying a beach bag and small cooler. I actually dropped in the bay and paddled over to my favorite beach. It works very well in an ocean inlet or marina area and very good on lakes. I don't know how it would be on white water and probably won't find out either. It's a durable and light weight boat that easily fits your every day needs. Although I have the J hooks to carry them, but also can slide them into my Grand Cherokee and strap it in quickly and easily. I'm a little female and sliding it/them into the truck is much easier for me. I like it and I highly recommend it. If you prefer open ocean kayaking, I suggest you get a sea kayak with a rudder. This one is great for light to medium waves and currents. Enjoy!

A great little boat!
This is my 7th season with my Fusion. I love it! I own several different brands and styles of boats, this is my go to favorite. It is wide, stable and so far, indestructible. We flat water, down hill and up to class 3 white water with it, it's held up well. There are some rock pox on it, but it is still 100% water tight. We are usually out on the water at least 3 or 4 times a week from April through November, have been out on Lake Erie, and have even had it out as a down hill snow sled! I love this little boat!I also use this boat to teach newbies in. It is so stable everybody gets comfortable in it. And being so wide and flat, its draft is very shallow making it a joy in the shallow spots. One place we go a lot has a lot of submerged tree stumps, logs and other snags that you invariably ride up on. Again, wide and flat takes all the tippy out of it. I've not gone turtle yet!Someone commented about their customer service. Yes, it is an issue to get hold of them, I don't think they monitor email much. A newbie broke my foot pegs & I ended up calling them and parts were forthcoming - though not cheaply. The next time I'll get them on EBay or Amazon. If I ever need to buy another (I'm 68 so the probabilities are not good) I'll be looking for another Fusion. Great recreational boat! We wash them regularly, UV treat the plastic a couple times a year and... other than that all we do is enjoy it!

I have this kayak and LOVE it. It is one of the best for beginners. I have been paddling over 30 years and when I just want to paddle (no fishing, no whitewater) just a simple paddle - this is my go to. I also have a Jackson Coosa (fishing), and Old Town Vapor.

Poor product with even worse customer support.
Terrible company to work with. I bought two new pedal boats from them. The seats would not reach the attaching rails on the boat. Future beach would not honor their manufacturing defect warranty. Will never buy their product again.

Stable and maneuverable
This is my first kayak. I have tried it in my swimming pool and in a calm lake down the road. I love it, love it, love it! I was concerned about being able to maneuver it and balance without flipping it. This kayak is wide and flat and floats down in the water in a way that you feel like you can turn, stop and go without any danger. Great beginners boat.It is quite a bit lighter and thinner than the Old Town brand my wife bought, but still sturdy enough. One disappointment is that the bulk head is not completely sealed, so is not really a dry storage space or an air pocket to keep it afloat should it flip.It is easy to load in the car rack and it has a drain plug right at the tail end, making it super easy to drain and store after use.

No warranty support
Have emailed several times about broken plastic pieces. Future Beach will not respond. Will not deal with them again. Most of the clips were discovered to be broken after receiving the kayak.
