13.3" Replacement LED Screen for ASUS C300 Chromebook

First things first: This replacement screen fit in the laptop and worked. The kit did not come with any tools, so you will need to already have or buy separately a computer repair kit. The installation process was relatively easy, and requires removing the cover of the hinge, removing the plastic surrounding the screen, followed by unscrewing the screen from its brackets and switching the screen out. This is far less scary than that might sound. The relatively low-rent construction of this Chromebook probably makes this repair easier as a DIY project than it should be. A number of YouTube videos can take you through the process, such as this one:[...]I paid $40 for this replacement (plus another $8 for tools), but have seen higher prices elsewhere. I'm not sure if it's worth paying that much more (say, over $75-$80) to fix this model given its cost, build quality, and availability of better new Chromebooks at the $200-$300 price range. I was quoted a $100-plus repair from ASUS support when the old screen broke, and set aside the laptop until I saw and read that the screen replacement was a plausible DIY project.

Cracked the screen to my Chromebook out of my own clutziness. The rest of the laptop seemed fine, so I decided to try the DIY route before buying a new computer or paying someone to fix it. With the help of this screen, a youtube video, and a set of cheap prying tools, I was able to do it without too much trouble. You will have to "go inside" the computer a bit to hook and unhook the cables, but if that doesn't scare you, you should try it.There was one dead pixel on the screen, but honestly, for the price, I'm still very pleased.

This replacement screen fit perfectly and arrived very quickly. I ordered this on Friday, 10/21, at about 8:30pm and it was at the house by Sunday, 10/23. Awesome! I was worried that I would have to replace my whole Chromebook or take it to an expensive computer repair store. Thanks to You Tube and the how-to videos which showed how easy it would be to do this myself. The hardest part of the whole project was removing and then putting back the little piece of plastic that goes over the hinges. Otherwise, this was a very simple task and for only about 40 bucks, it was definitely worth it.

This works for a ASUS 300SA.We installed it in about an hour. We went with the approach of disconnecting the keyboard, battery power connection, wifi wires and monitor wires before unscrewing the monitor hinges. With the monitor completely disconnected we removed the bezel with ease using a plastic tool. The trickiest part was placing the hinge cover back on. Pay close attention as the piece is asymmetric and make sure the wires don't get pinched. Reinstalling was the wires and keyboard was easy. Final bit was to remove the screen protector after you verify the new screen works. Watch a few videos online before starting. Hopefully it will last.

Perfect, exactly what I needed after dropping my brand new Asus C300 chromebook. This one did not include any tools so you'll need a tiny phillips screwdriver and a small pry tool called a spudger. The most difficult part was taking off the hinge cover and prying the bezel off the computer. I was always afraid I was going to break something.The screen itself installs with four screws and has a tiny plug to firmly push into place. The whole process took under 30 minutes.I knew it was just the screen because I connected my chromebook to a tv with the hdmi cable and I had a good picture. I used directions that I found in a youtube video and it was easy as pie.

Screen was perfect. Took about 10 minutes to install (after old screen had been removed - also about 10 minutes). On line video instructions were easy to follow and totally accurate and complete (including detailed hints on the hinge AND the connector). Standard shipping arrived several days early and packaging was exceptional for a fragile item. Follow up email from vendor after the order helped ensure that we'd ordered the right thing. We had an Exacto knife and jeweler's screwdrivers on hand so no additional tools were needed to remove old screen and install this one.

I love this screen! It was packaged nicely in a box and had bubble wrap and a cover over the screen. It came really fast and quick. It was very easy to install. It was my first time installing a screen to my Chromebook and I was able to just by watching a video of it on YouTube. The screen fit perfectly and I didn't experience any issues at all.

My daughter messed up my Chromebook screen so I ordered this to replace it. It came quickly in the mail. I watched a youtube video on how to fix my specific screen and was able to fix it in half an hour. I did have to buy tiny screwdrivers to be able to fix it, but it wasn't hard. I was nervous once I put it in that it wouldn't work and my daughter had broken something else, but it worked and I haven't had any problems with it!
