They are super strong, good quality, seems they gonna last long!! i bought them for a 2009 dodge ram hood and i believe these are extremally strong because it is really hard to close the hood now and yes they do fit on the hood but these are like half inch longer than the OEM ones, which makes the hood to go super high with a lot of strength. I believe one of this might be enough to lift the hood. when I pop the hood I put my hands on it so it doesn't go up flying off!!

I got these after the auto parts store quoted me $25 a piece for them. I was kind of weary at first but I have to say how impressed I am with these. I was having to use vice grips to hold my hood up before. Took less than 5 minutes to remove the old ones and put on the new. After the first one was on it held up the hood on my Dodge Ram 1500 by itself. With both of them on I really had to use some force to close my hood. I would highly recommend these for anyone that needs them.

I replaced my worn out lifts with these. It was a very simple process and anybody with only a little mechanical ability can do it. The funny thing is that once I had replaced them I took my wooden prop out that was holding my hood up during replacement and I stood there waiting for the hood to start down. It just stayed up. I reached up to help the hood come down and it would not budge. I thought that I had done something wrong or the lift supports were defective so I checked everything and found nothing out of place. I tried to pull my hood down and realized that I had been using the worn out ones so long that I assumed it would close with very little effort. These lift supports are just that, supports. I had to pull with some power to get the hood down which is exactly what one would expect of the new supports. Long story short. Use a little muscle after you replace the worn out supports with these. They work. Recommended.
