When we got our 8x16 Swimspa 18 mos ago, it came with a huge cover. Like 2 gigantic hot tub covers. Those were heavy and unwieldy, and eventually, the foam inside broke.I wasn't interested in heat retention, since I live in FL, but needed to keep leaves, pine needles, cats, raccoons and possums OUT!I got this shade cloth and my pool was several degrees cooler. I attached carabiners to eye bolts on my deck where nobody would walk/trip on it, and used those cute bungees, also found on Amazon and attached to mats around the periphery. I will put in more eye bolts, if I can find them that don't stick up over the mats and trip people.I feel that my pool is very secure, and if anybody tried to sneak in, or a child was curious, they would not be able to figure out how to open it, and it is taut enough that a kid or critter would just "float" on the cloth. We used this today. And we're amazed at how clean the pool was.

I bought a 12‘ x 10‘ pool from Amazon for my grandchildren, put a regular tarp over it, but every time it rained, the tarp was so heavy with rain, my husband and I had a hard time taking it off the pool, so my son suggested a mesh tarp, and what a difference, the rain goes right through and the leaves stay on top of the mesh tarp. I made sure to get a little bit of a bigger size so I can tuck it under the pool. This is the best idea !

Very pleased with these , has cut down the heat from sun through glass patio doors. Very strong, sturdy.
