Amazon is awesome.
I started a return and now I went to cancel my return, but was unable to cancel because return was completed early. I hold on to this pair, and Amazon will eventually charge my accountThese pants are awesome. They shed water better than a duck sheds water. As instructed, I hand-wash them. They dried so fast I could've put them right back on.I did have to change my size. So I returned the pants and reordered one size up. The replacement pants came to me the next day.

Picture misleading
They are nice and a good price. The only reason I bought them is because the picture shows draw strings around the ankles. I was searching for that specifically. The do not have them.

My favorite pants
I was initially a little unhappy with these. When I performed a search for baggy hiking pants, Amazon described these as baggy. I guess they are if you are a stick man, but if you're anything but, they are NOT baggy. Still, they feel really good, lol. What they lack in bagginess they make up for in stretchability. I don't feel trapped in them the way I do in jeans. The dri-fit material feels really good too. I'm especially happy about the fact that these pants don't assume if you have a 36" waist that you must be 5'6". I am 6'3" and when I put these on the leg length was perfect; no floods! They also appear to be made pretty well. I still think $40 is pretty expensive for these, but at least they don't feel like they will survive only a few washes.I bought a total of 3 pair, mainly for winter camping and hiking, but they are a godsend in the sun as well. I recently did a challenge, hiking 48 miles (cross country hiking) in 48 hours. I wore these on day 2 because I got somewhat sunburned the day before, despite judicious application of sunblock. Temps were in the 80s, and I was not uncomfortable at all. I was wearing a long sleeved dri-fit shirt under a short sleeved dri-fit shirt also, and I was not uncomfortable. So yes, great pants!

Hiking?
If by Hiking, the manufacturer means walking those well groomed trails in the city, suburbia or 'easy' trails maintained by the state or Federal park service, then these are Hiking pants. If they mean 'Hiking" as what one typically envisions when referring to a Hiker; the outdoorsy type prone to remote camping on various treks, then, I doubt these pants would be a wise choice in most any environment. It claims 'quick drying' because the 65% nylon+35% polyester is very thin, like old Parachute pants from back in the 1980's and not a particular special feature, but inherent in the materials and thin fabric it CAN'T hold any moisture for as long as, say. Cotton Jeans. These may be better described as 'kick-around' casual cargo pants. Or a modifier 'day hiking' (as described earlier). They are more cargo-like pants, as most cargo pants are durable work grade pants. They may be cooler than other options, particularly as shorts, but I don't care much for the slippery feel of these, but that is what one should expect from the materials.

Amazing material
I have pants from a different company made of this same material. I've bought 6 or 7 different pants trying to find an exact match, but hadn't until i got these. I work construction and my only priority is comfort in the heat, and nothing has ever come close to this material, it's magic. BUT not only comfortable, they're the most durable pants I've ever had. The material has ripstop built in so while i get small holes crawling over rocks they never get big. I also only wear the one pair of pants for work, and wash them after every job, they're that durable. I don't know if the stitching on these will be as durable, but it's at least the same fabricI also removed the bottom 4 pockets so they don't look so crazy, and the flaps from the back pockets since they get in the way of using putting things in and out

Day 1 initial impressions, haven't yet been put to use.
Firstly, just received these pants today. Very positive experience so far as I got exactly what I had ordered. Unlike some recent clothing purchases through Amazon. As for the pants themselves, they are as described. Light weight, nylon fabric, loose fitting cargo pants.Durability of clothing will be the next test. So far though, five stars.I have clothing made by other companies which have lasted me many years of outdoor activities, hiking, wandering, crawling, scrambling through woodland & mountainous environments. If these hold up to what I go through, they will be my "go to" clothing source at about 1/3 the price.Time will tell.
