Background Knowledge Needed
Summary: This is good if you're looking for rote practice and some vocabulary words. Be warned this does not emphasize writing compactly and some of the translations and phrases are odd and/or don't tend to appear in Korean speech you may hear.I liked this book because it specifically gave some rote exercises for drawing Korean characters. Mind you, it's literally Korean characters, they don't use actual words until later. When they do show Korean words, near the back of the book, they're very useful ones. They should have areas for smaller handwriting, but you can make it work for you if you practice writing entire words in one square rather than copying how they have each syllable in a square. The translations are unusual as are the phrases they have you practice near the end of the book as well. Also, there's a typographical error. For ์๋ ํ๊ฐ์ธ์ they use "Godo bye". When they should have "Goodbye (when someone is leaving you)". Since that word has a very specific use it should be followed with some explanation since the authors should anticipate someone to use it.As for the odd phrases, one phrase is "์ด๋ ํ๊ต์ ๋ค๋์ธ์?" which they translate as "Where do you go to school?" This is odd because "Where" is "์ด๋" which isn't used. This really is closer to "Which school do you attend?" Some of the other translations seem to try to normalize the cultural implications that woven in the phrases, so they're not good for actually understand what you would actually be saying or writing or commuting into other things a person would like to say since the translation isn't proper.Overall, it served my purpose, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Great Book!!
This book is great for bettering your handwriting in Hangul. The first many pages are for practicing the writing of the consonants and vowels, but as you go on they include basic words with pictures, that way you can not only practice the individual letters but the syllable block formation as well. I would recommend this book to go along with other books actually teaching you the Korean language.

This book is just for improving your Hangul pensmanship. It is not for learning Hangul. Itโs exactly what I needed

Just blank practice pages.
I am American born and raised. I work for a Korean company, with many Korean natives, so I'm trying to learn the language in my spare time. This book is simply a bunch of writing practice pages with no explanations. I don't like the font provided. It looks more like Chinese writing to me than the Korean writing I see at work.

This is a really great option for digging into the language on a basic ...
I bought this for my cousin who is trying to teach herself Korean. She was extremely excited to start using it. A lot of the other language learning products skip over alphabet and focus on spoken phrases. This is a really great option for digging into the language on a basic level.

No translation of letters/ words
This was a gift for my daughter and she loved it! However I really wished it would have explained what the letters were instead of just knowing how to draw them. Luckily enough my daughter knew what most of the letters were.

Not for those that already know how to write it.
I thought eventually it would get smaller and it would transition to regular handwriting, but no. It is like this the whole way. If you struggle learning the letters it is useful but not for those that already know how to write it and are trying to make their handwriting smaller and neater, or look like regular Korean handwriting.

A large workbook with lots of practice
The photo of this book doesn't show that it is a large workbook-sized paperback. The squares for practicing letters and letter combinations is excellent and lend themselves for a lot of repetition. The end section has Korean phrases to practice, so there is a bit of language learning above and beyond the hangul practice.
