I have a plastic tub sunk into the ground which holds about 16 gals of water. The solar pump keeps the water moving and provides visual interest when viewed from the house or in the yard. I've had two solar pumps before, and this one is far superior. The others needed bright direct overhead sun to work at all. This one even works in somewhat cloudy or overcast conditions.The first pump I received did not work properly. When I submitted my return request, the seller sent a replacement immediately. I'm very pleased with both the product and the customer service from this vendor.

works great if you only want it to work for 1 month. After a month it just quit, will not work

I had a different brand that broke after short use so ordered this one. i was initially disappointed because it didn’t work out of the box and prepared to return - complaining about poor quality. Upon pitching into return box it started working! Then I read the instructions and learned that there is a protective feature that must be overridden. Now it works great! Nice little fountain.One month later: stopped working and doesn’t restart after following directions to override protective feature. I hope the supplier contacts me about a fix or replacement

The media could not be loaded. So this solar water fountain is just what it seems to be. When you put it in the sun the water will bubble and spray through the attachments. When it's in the shade it may work off and on. And at night it turns itself off. If you want it to run constantly you should pay a little more money and buy the bird bath fountain which has a battery backup. He will need to put your bird bath in an area which receives sunshine but also has a good hiding place for your birds. Birds like to be able to fly up into a tree or into shrubbery once they get their feathers wet. Does someone cause as a problem if the fountain is in too shady of a spot. I initially put my fountain in a bucket of water to see where it best worked in my yard. Sometimes late in the afternoons when the sun begins to filter the fountain doesn't work as well. But I still wanted to provide a cover for my federal trends!It did cut off one time probably due to trash in the motor. I ran water over the compartments where the motor was located with my water faucet, and ran water through the nozzle attachment to wash out the trash. It restarted just as the directions said that it would. Make sure that you keep enough water in your bird bath. As others have mentioned when you use the spray nozzles, although they are very pretty and the birds like them, they will spray the water outside of the bowl and possibly deplete your water And burn your motor out if left unattended or forgotten about. You will need to keep an eye on the water level if you use the spray attachments. I actually prefer the bubbling attachment. My one criticism is the suction cups for the bottom of the fountain. They are not big enough or strong enough to hold the fountain completely in place. And you cannot place anything on top of the solar panels to weight it down or you will cover the solar panels or it will not work properly. I finally took two rocks and placed them slightly to the edges of the fountain So they hold it somewhat corralled in place while floating. But otherwise it is a nice feature to have in your bird bath and makes it very attractive.

I’ve only had it for a day, but it works quite well in the sun, and comes with fountain heads so you can change the height of the fountain spray. You do need to put it in direct sun (it IS a solar fountain after all) fountain comes with backup battery but mine only worked for one day. I plan to try a new battery to see if the included one was simply old. I will keep my fountain even if the battery aspect is a bust.

My son dug me a little garden pond for Mother's Day. We bought this fountain to keep it aerated. It is perfect. It worked immediately. It floats, so I didn't have to provide a base. It sends up water from sunrise to sunset (shorter when cloudy). We have had it about 4 days, so I don't know about longevity, but it is an awesome little fountain.

Functioned beautifully all summer in my front yard. Turned off when sun went down and automatically started up again once the sun shone again. Didn't work well in bird bath because water wasn't deep enough and went dry too quickly. I had a wood simulated half barrel and that was just perfect. Less maintenance than my other two elec. fountains!
