Exactly as described - fast rolling on dry/hardpack terrain
For me, the width is about right. There are a high number of reports of undersized tire width. Not sure how many cyclists who take to the reviews understand that their inner rim diameter & initial tire pressure during wear-in directly affects the ultimate width of the tire on the bike. For me, it measures about 2.1".Mounting tubeless is about as easy as it gets - all the Vittoria TNT trail tires I've used over the years continue to be some of the most reliable, flat free and robust trail tires I've used. They look good on an all black frame as well.Vittoria describes the Mezcal as a dry terrain tire. I'd say that's right on the money. I ride trails in Phoenix, where the singletrack conditions range from hardpack, loose over hard, to kitty litter to crushed chonk, to sliced shale, to babyheads as well as occasional slick-rock pitches.I'm using the Mezcal as a rear XC tire with a Barzo on the front - mainly due to frame clearance limitations. The Mezcal starts to break down when I do climbs on really loose, deep crushed chonk - tire will spin a bit uphill. But I think almost any low profile tire under about 2.6" is going to spin a bit on conditions like that. Downhill cornering performance could be better, but I wasn't expecting miracles with a fast rolling tire like this - there are always tradeoffs. I have had one minor wipeout on mild kitty litter that I could not explain - other than the fact that I was running the rear Mezcal, which seems to have reduced cornering traction at speed on anything more loose than hardpack. Other than that - it's a very fast rolling XC tire. Run rear, tubeless with rider @ 165lb I run it around 23-24 psi, which is quite low for a tire of this width and have not struck the rim yet; thanks to the thick sidewalls. I don't think I'd see any benefit in going lower than this. The sidewalls appear to be very strong. In fact I switched back to Vittoria TNT tires precisely because I ripped a sidewall on some Maxxis Ikons that ripped like tissue paper on my bog standard ride. This rear Mezcal has been going strong for at least 30 rides in the above-mentioned conditions and shows a number of rock strike spots on the sidewall that would have most likely ripped thinner walls. If you ride mostly flow trails, hardpack, where cornering traction in loose conditions is not the utmost priority - but speed & reliability are priorities, then this is probably a good tire for you.

Measures True 2.6, weight is accurate as advertised, rolls super fast on my Transition Spur
I put a Barzo 2.6 TNT on the front my bike and really liked it, but it measured 2.485 with my dial calipers. I figured if I ordered a Mezcal 2.6 in the Tubeless TNT it would measure the same and match. Since the Mezcal 2.6 ended up measuring 2.6 I had a problem...so i ordered another one and am running 2.6s front and rear on my Transition Spur. Riding on the tires first at Fort Yargo and then at Chicopee Woods in GA I was impressed. Rolling speed was significantly increased compared to the original Maxxis Rekon and Dissector. My trails are basically rooty and rocky with varieties of dust and hardpack with leaves and pine straw this time of year. I easily installed and inflated the tires and put in 4 oz of Orange Seal Endurance sealant in each tire. I weigh 200 lbs and On my first ride I put 20.5psi in the rear and 17.5psi in the front. The tires rolled over everything and kept moving with relative ease. Climbing traction was great. At these pressures the 2.6s had zero squirm. Since the tires seem like they have plenty of tension even at those relative low pressures...next, I'm going to drop the psi to 19 in the rear and 16 in the front and see How I like that. I basically feel like I have a super capable fat tire aggressive cross country bike with just the right amount of travel now. Another great thing...Vittorias do wear slower than other tires I've tried and they do a much better job of holding air between rides compared to anything else I've ever had. I think there is something real to be said for the graphene. I generally avoid riding in the wet or mud so I can't speak to their performance in those conditions. Also..at Fort Yargo yesterday me and my 2 other friends were riding down the paved road just before getting on the trail. With the 3 of us starting roughly side by side with me trailing5-10ft behind...I rolled right past my 2 friends on the paved road moderate downhill with zero pedaling effort. I weight 200, my other 2 friends weight 205 and 190. One friend was on Maxxis Rekons front and rear and the other was on whatever comes on the 2022 Trek Supercaliber. All 3 of us were on XC tires side by side with no draft and I rolled 1-2 mph faster by the time we got to the trail head...The increased rolling speed of the MEZCAL is real...at least in the 2.6s! I'm going to be running these for a long time to come. Completely in love with the performance of these tires and current 2.6 setup.

Good looking, great quality
Bought these to replace my stock tires and got to say wasn't disappointed. I love the look and the feel of these tires while riding. Currently street and light dirt riding. they feel smooth on the street and just enough grip on dirt while not riding to extreme. THESE TIRES ARE DIRECTIONAL, MAKE SURE YOU POINT THE ARROW THE RIGHT WAY. 😂

Only a few weeks in, so far I’m loving them
This is my first experience with Vittoria. The materials are obviously good quality. The ride quality has been really good even though I am running rather high pressure on the 2.1” size. Typically I’m riding more hard pack paths and trails with a mix or road riding. The rolling resistance is very close to what I ride on my gravel wheel set. Grip is a slight sacrifice I have gotten used to. But all in all, I’ve been really happy! Barely ever switch back to my narrower wheel set. Great tires for xc riding on hard surfaces.

Wrong description!
Don't be fooled by the product description! Bought a set of Tan color and thought it is a xc trail/TNT but it is XC race/TLR. If you are looking for XC Trail/TNT which has side protection you need to make sure you buy the right one.The product description is showing XC trail/TNT no matter what color or model you choose.Seller! Please use more caution on the product description. If I knew it is TNT, I would not buy and could've save $7 on each tire from some other sellers. Other than that, tire itself has been good so far, no complaint.
