Anchor Hocking Heritage Hill 2 Gallon Glass Jar with Lid

I wanted to start a German Rumtopf (Rum pot) like my mother had when I was growing up. I started all of the fruits separately in smaller jars, and then started the search for a good quality larger jar with a lid to combine them all into so their flavors could meld. I was not let down when I found this beautiful, heavy glass jar with a lid for a great price. When I got it, I was skeptical that my fruit would fill the jar. I took it out of it’s packaging and washed and dried it. Then the magic began. I emptied jar after jar of the fresh mangoes, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, cherries and peaches that I had started separately some months ago. To my utter amazement and happiness every piece of fruit fit into the jar and it looks beautiful!! I am one hundred percent happy with this purchase and will be buying more!!** update: since buying this jar at 13 dollars, it went unavailable for awhile when I went back to purchase more. To my sadness, the jars are now more than double in price then what I paid for mine. Still a good deal for a quality product, but I would have liked to have grabbed a few more at such a good price **

This glass jar is gigantic! It is heavy and the glass is thick so it should stand the test of time. I had low expectations, I admit, because the <$20 price falls squarely under "if it sounds too good to be true..." I know it says 2 gallons, so I should have expected it's generous proportions, but I was skeptical. Perhaps it was a misprint or very poor quality glass. Nope! I stood correct corrected yesterday after I opened up the box.This jar-with-lid-included is a steal! It was packaged securely in its own box, which was then placed in the usual shipping box with those little air pillows protecting it on all sides.This jar will house my next terrarium - and it will be easy to build because the opening is so wide that both my hands can reach into the jar with ease. I was able to fit it in the dishwasher without issue, so it is now sanitized and ready to go. I'll use some little rubber bumpers around the rim of the lid to protect lid and jar from accidental damage and give it just a little ventilation while keeping the humidity and springtails within the enclosure.

I love this gigantic jar! I've been making bread for the family for the last 3 years. No GMO's here!!! We are country folks here so making bread is second nature. I just needed a big jar that is big enough to hold at least 10 lbs of flour at a time with a wide mouth to measure and level flour without getting it all over. This is perfect. No need to weigh your flour either if you scoop your flour into your measuring cup and leveling it off. The trick is to use a scoop to loosely pour into your measuring cup. It's not all packed down that way. It's kind of fluffy. Works 100% of the time!!!! I had some stickers left from another product so I used one to write the contents on. You can easily use a sharpie directly on the glass if you want to. If you need to wipe the sharpie off just use a little alcohol on a paper towel. Comes right off. There's not a seal around the jars lid. I'm glad it doesn't. There's no need for it for my purpose. It also reminds me of my momma's old flour jar when I was a kid. When you heard that lid rattle in the kitchen you knew something good was about to be made!! I just love love 💕 this jar. The price is incredible!!!

I got this to store homemade powder kidney detergent in. It’s great quality, good size and exactly what I was looking for! The lid fits perfect and it’s super easy to get the amount of detergent I need out.

I purchased this jar to hold dishwashing detergent on my countertop so that I didn’t have to stoop down to grab it from a lower cabinet (back injury). I didn’t want a tacky looking box on my counter, so I opted to decant it into this jar.Be aware that this jar does not have a seal around the lid, so I would be hesitant to put any kind of pantry food items in it.But that is what I wanted so that I can take the lid off with one hand, scoop some out, and replace the lid. Easy peasy.Works great for my needs, and holds a large box of detergent (and then some). Thick glass, well made, good price, and trusted brand. Win!

I am absolutely delighted with my glass storage containers. They are incredibly robust and boast airtight seals that keep my food fresh for longer. Great quality. Super easy to clean, I just hand wash it. I do not use it for food I fill it full of tide pods. Very happy with the storage capacity.
