Britax Advocate G4.1 Convertible Car Seat, Silver Diamonds

This car seat is big and I am very confident it will protect my child in a case of an accident. My only complaint is that the black fabric used seems really cheap. I'm not sure if this is for all fabric designs or just the diamond pattern, but if it's just a diamond pattern with this microfiber I would recommend paying $40 for a different design.

I use this in my 2011 Toyota 4Runner and my daughter uses it in her Honda Element. I have it in the back on the passenger side so that I can load & unload my grandson from the sidewalk, not the street. In the 4Runner it creates a large blind spot. It does leave more room for the front seat to move further back than the Britax B-Safe base and infant seat. Federal recommendations are to keep children rear-facing until the age of two. At one year old, my grandson's feet are hitting the back of the seat, with no room to grow. It seems like the only way a rear-facing car seat would work is if the back seat reclined away from the child's feet -- then it seems like it could be front-facing with the same safety results. My daughter feels safe with this car seat.

I love this carseat! We bought the prior G4 for my first son after he had grown out of his infant seat, and upon hearing of the second rushed out to get this one.Pros:1. Unparalled protection2. The straps are super easy to use, glide smoothly and adjust with ease3. The shoulder pads do not interfere with the straps pathway (we had a significant problem with this with our Chicco Nextfit, hence why we chose a second Britax over the Chicco)4. The kiddos are extremely comfortable in these... they are asleep within moments of driving anywhere5. Easy installation for latch or seatbelt6. My oldest son is tall and skinny and my youngest is tall and husky, this seat fits both of them wellCons:1. The newer model has a shorter crotch strap than the prior model.2 This seat is heavy. If you must move between vehicles often be prepared to get some muscles, or buy a lighter seat. this seat is also heavier than the prior version and I am not sure why they did that3. Even if the line is perfectly level with the ground (I check with a bubble level) the angle may be to upright for young babies. I check my angle with a clinometer and need to put a towel under to get it closer to a 45 degree angle, even though the line tells me it is acceptable.

The car seat was very well made and did fit my granddaughter very well but the straps kept twisting and did not stay tight. For the cost of this product I expected much better.

This seat is a dream! I bought this car seat just before a 1200 mile road trip. We had a different seat that our 1 year old did not like and we were dreading the trip because our toddler would cry after even short trips. The seat is wide but we used it in a 2015 Ford Escape behind the driver (6' tall) with a tween and an adult in the back seat comfortably for the road trip. It also sits up high enough that our little one could see out the window. Our toddler was happy the whole ride as much as a strapped down toddler can be happy, which was a lot in this seat. The smoothness of that trip alone made us glad we bought this seat, it was worth every penny.The pads are also easy to remove for cleaning, and installation is a breeze. We do have to use a pool noodle under the front in our older model GMC Envoy, but it still sits nicely behind the seats without having to crunch whoever is sitting in front of the seat. We've had this seat for several months and our toddler still loves car rides, and is rear facing. Our toddler is tall, 95th% at 17 months and isn't cramped and still has lots of growing room. I would definitely recommend this seat.

We bought this car seat after I extensively researched safety. This is top of the line when it comes to safety and side impact. This carseat is serious business with the steel bars, etc. We have had this seat now for about 5-6 months and there are many things I've grown to LOVE that I didn't even know about when I purchased. (1) I feel that my baby is super safe (2) they have little velcro squares on the straps which is SUPER Helpful for parents when they're putting the baby in the carseat, you can actually push (and velcro) the straps out of the way. (3) I read it was easy to install but it truly is! (4) The strap cushions are at the right place that they prevent rubbing on my baby's sensitive skin. The only downside, is that in the rear facing position, it sits quite angled in my SUV (I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee) and this makes it hard to get my baby in & out without bumping his head :( After a few months of angling him in, its become second nature and we love this carseat WAY better then the other one we bought for another car. Great purchase!

My son hated it. He hated how straight it was. My husband and my daughter both thought the seat looked purple. It was a gray but different shades it looks purple. We returned it after a day of trying. Glad I did britaxl had a whole bunch of seats on recall now

Bought to keep in my GMC Acadia Denali for my 21 month old grandson. My 7 month old granddaughter will also use it when she gets bigger. This car seat is everything they said it was. My grandson likes sitting in it. It is EXTREMELY sturdy. I have it latched as well as using the seat belt to secure it. Haven't decided yet if I will use the harness over the seat or not. It is more expensive than others but I did a lot of research and felt this was the safest car seat for my grand babies. And as far as I'm concerned I will pay whatever I have to keep them safe.
