2 years and going strong!
I bought this product two years ago. It lives in my travel bag. My husband and I travel several times a year, and I always use this to make my morning tea while away from home. This morning, while pouring my boiling hot water for tea, I wondered if I had ever written a review. I hadn’t. So here it is: The Gourmia Collapsible kettle has served us faithfully for two years, and it is going strong. We have hot water for tea or dry soup mixes almost instantly. It takes maybe sixty seconds from pouring water in until it’s boiling and ready to use. It’s easy to clean although I don’t think you can submerge it due to the cord connection. It collapses down small and light for transport. I keep mine in a drawstring produce bag with the cord, my tea, and some sugar and honey packets so I’m always ready to go wherever we are. I would hope to buy this again if this one ever wears out.

The best portable coffee machine
Praises for this portable coffee pot aka hot water heater. We went on a trip to Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Glacier, & Mount Rushmore during COVID-19. This meant almost ALL the places we stayed had removed their coffee pots because of inability to keep them sanitary / clean during the pandemic. We frantically started searching Amazon for some way to bring a coffee pot with us because we need our coffee 😬We found this and thought we would try it.IT IS AMAZING!Pros:It is collapsible - which makes it extremely easy to place in your luggage. It warms up quickly & makes the water scalding hot - great for coffee or teaIt has a shut off valve to prevent it from burning dry.Cons:The electric cord is kinda short - it wasn’t a big deal but there were some places we had to be creative as to where to plug in the pot but not a big deal just bring an extension cord.We honestly could not be happier with this product. We said multiple times how grateful we were to have it and our coffee ❤️☕️

Gives this doc the caffeine needed. Everything you need and nothing you don’t. Perfect.
I LOVE this kettle! As a medical resident, I need my caffeine and I need it hot and fast! Then, I need it out of the way. I can easily fill several mugs full out of the volume from the pot. There is zero residual taste even with the first use. The cord is detachable which makes it perfect for heating up and going. I often end up working away from my desk and so I can just bring the pot with me and it stays hot for quite a while. And if I want, I can just plug it back in and it reheats super fast. I’ve used it for French press coffee, powdered coffee and a variety of teas including nice teas that need gentle treatment. There’s not a temp gauge on this one but I usually find it easy to determine if hot is too hot or not. It’s such a simple and effective little pot and so cheap, you really don’t need anything else fancy. I just dry it out when I’m done and store in my desk. It’s exactly what I needed.

Compact Kettle That's Great for Travel.
I bought this for an upcoming vacation, and want to have delicious coffee that isn't brewed in one of those sketchy hotel units. Upon receiving this Gourmia water kettle, I immediately started boiling water in it to remove the plastic smell that others had noted in their reviews. It took about five boils before the smell went away, and then I proceeded to test out my pourover coffee dripper. No plastic smell or taste went into my coffee! It takes about 5 minutes to boil water in this kettle, and it shuts off automatically. I saw the voltage listing on the bottom, and it stated it could be used 120-240V, but it only has the three-prong USA plug attached. Just to be safe, make sure your kettle has the proper voltages listed on the bottom! Needless to say, once you properly prepare this kettle for use, it should quickly boil water for coffee, tea, or anything you need it for...and save you space in your luggage!

110 voltage foldable electric tea kettle
It is nice to have a foldable electric tea kettle in this price range. At first, I was a bit hesitated as I already bought two foldable electric tea kettles on Amazon in the past and each stopped working after 6 months. I kept asking myself if I should spend money on travel tea kettle or just use my microwave. Then, I took the courage to give it a try with this tea kettle as the brand name Gourmia seems ok. I have one foldable tea kettle with this brand in my office and it works fine for almost a year. This foldable electric kettle has a dual voltage model in a price tage with additional $10 more. Although it is nice to have dual voltage, I don't think I travel oversea every month. I also can't be sure this tea kettle can pass the 6-month working period. Therefore, I settled with this 110 volt model. It's not a bit to use a voltage convertor when I use it in Europe and Asia.

Works well
I just love this product! I bought it 2 months ago and use it very often. I had no trouble at all using it ever since. I have collapsed and unfolded it maybe more than 20 times, works well and the silicone part feels sturdy. It does not boil water extremely quickly but it does the job. I think it takes less than 4”3 minutes at max limit of water. But when I fill water to the max limit, it spits out water as it boils, so I face the pouring mouth away from me. Also I saw some white powder-ish crystalling sometimes for the first week even after I have boiled it for several times at first. It does not have any taste so I am not sure what it is. I washed using in dish detergent a few times, being careful not to get the electric cord connection part wet. But the convenience is phenomenal. I dont remember seeing “bpa free,” though.. When I fill to the max limit it touches the plastic.. hmm..
