I have been using the waterproof ipod by underwater audio for several weeks now. It looks feels and play like a normal iPod shuffle but it can go underwater. I use it for dry land listening as well.I originally bought the waterproof ipod on their website and then picked up another one for my son via Amazon. Its changed my swim workouts completely. What used to be a drudgery is now really fun. I love being able to listen to my favorite playlist while doing my laps (heretofore only possible on my runs). I find I go faster, get more laps in, and enjoy it more.The company experience was good - ordering was a snap, free shipping, paid no tax (I think that's because the company is based in Oregon - not sure) and it arrived very quickly. Sounds like they have a good return policy too. Also, they shipped it with a set of waterproof headphones - very convenient. I was able to use them immediately right out of the box. I read the reviews of some other similar products and it looked like they had lots of returns - some three and four times - I wanted to avoid that... these guys apparently have a bullet proof process - no problems. I love this thing.For the money, this little unit is worth it - happy swimming.*****Came across this old review and thought I'd give a quick update. I was amazed at how old this review was and how long it has been since I posted it. Long story short.... this I-pod still works! It is still going strong, no battery issues and still totally waterproof! 7 years of not being bored in the pool. I see the company has some new products and even more on the way. I will definitely consider what they offer if I ever switch to spotify. In the meantime, I am very happy with my 7 years and still running experience. I highly recommend Underwater Audio.

I was originally thinking of buying another type of underwater audio system but after doing my research on Amazon it became apparent that Underwater Audio had the best system available for a reasonable price. I like to read the negative and positive reviews and also the most recent reviews to get an idea of how the product is doing with it's customers. Price was not the most important thing in making my decision on this product. There are other less expensive products available but they do not have the same amount of positive reviews as the Underwater Audio iPod Shuffle. So I ordered the item and have used it almost every day since it arrived at my door. It has worked flawlessly. I just got out of the pool a few hours ago after using it again. Now the biggest benefit of any underwater audio music system is that it takes the boredom away from swimming laps. I normally swim an average of one hour in the pool which is hundreds of laps in a 25 yard pool. Believe me when I say it can be really boring without music. I no longer count laps and this has helped keep my sanity. I get lost in the music and just concentrate on my swimming. I have found that I swim longer and faster and have way more fun in the pool. Now the negative. You have to deal with the limitations of the iPod shuffle. You cannot fit that much music in 2 gigabytes of storage. Hence you find that you are listening to the same songs over and over. This has nothing to do with the underwater audio product and everything to do with the limitations of the shuffle. I guess I have to get used to the idea of adding and removing songs from my iTunes and the iPod shuffle. I have a 160 gig iPod so you can imagine how limiting it is to have only 2 gigs on the shuffle. My biggest regret is that I wish I had bought this years ago. It has changed my workouts completely. I would not hesitate to recommend this product.

Update**December 12, 2012The company was very generous and replaced my unit with a NEW ipod. It works like a charm and I am careful to make sure it drys before charging again. I love it and it makes swimming so much more enjoyable. Thank youNO LONGER WORKS-Company replaced w/ defective unitsI absolutely LOVED this Ipod. It is so relaxing to swim to music. I am in the lap pool only ONCE a week. But it no longer works. The company actually sent me TWO REPLACEMENTS . The first seemed to work for a minute (a month). Then it died. The second maybe two weeks. I am EXTREMELY carful with it. I made sure it was DRY before recharging and was careful otherwise but it still died. I am thankful for the replacements but it should not be necessary. This is TOO MUCH MONEY to pay for the length of use I received ( 1yr +4mo) . The company said it was no longer under warranty. Whenever it starts to go bad all the music is instrumental (hear no words) and muffled in sound, the device is unresponsive to touch (will not pause, forward or allow volume change). When this happens I know it is no good anymore. I appreciate the companies help but it does no good to replace an item with other defective items.
