Allows wheelchair extra room
These hinges give us the extra distance needed to easily get a wheelchair through the doorways. We use these on the bedroom door and the bathroom. These extra distance just makes life easier. And no nicks or scratches on the doorframe from the wheelchair. I am so glad we found these! I took a picture to give you an idea how it looks with the door open. You've got the entire width of the door frame now!

Great for increasing the doorway width
Perfect fit in the radiused corner recesses on the door and the door encasement. Might need to deepen the recesses on the door encasement, because sometimes when closing the door, the door wants to hit on the door knob side. Thus far though they look great and are doing the job. One thing I did notice was that they do need to be tight against the recesses on the door and the door encasement. You might need to fill the holes with artificial wood, let dry, and redrill the holes for the screws. If the screws are not tight, door will sag and hit opposite side when closing. This is what I have found. I've installed 4 of these so far. The satin color looks nice too. My wife can now walk thru the 24" bathroom doors with her walker, where before I installed these, she had to turn it sideways to get through. These work better than widening the doorways. I would purchase again.

Great hinges, heavy duty made to easily hold solid core door.
I used these to replace some bathroom hinges to get the extra clearance and they are great. Be aware that the opening space is going to be approx. 3" longer with these hinges. One suggestion to the company they should offer these in packages of 3 for interior home doors, most all doors have 3 hinges not 2. The hinges however are heavy duty enough to easily carry the load. The screws should be about another 1/4" longer than supplied if only 2 hinges will wound up being used.

Works well!
This offset hinge works very well. It allows the door to swing all the way back out of the doorway opening so that you have the full width clear to navigate through. Surprisingly, it doesn't make the door swing oddly as I imagined it would - it just seamlessly swings wider. I don't think most people using the door would even notice any difference vs. a regularly-hinged door unless they use a wheelchair and had to navigate through - then YOU BET they notice how nice and wide the opening is! This product adds about 2" to the opening of the door.I took a little off for ease of installation - we couldn't use the second set I bought in the bathroom like I hoped because in that room the door is so close to the wall there isn't enough clearance - we'd have to chip out the wall board. If you have a door that the doorknob actually touches the wall you might measure to see if you have enough room to fit this hinge. It has to go at the same height as the original hinge but instead of being screwed on the inside of the door frame it's screwed onto where your trim boards that go around the door outside the opeing are. From the opening to the wall you need at least 3.75 inches. My bathroom had 2.5

Great Product
I broke my kneecap and had to have surgery on it three times within a three month period. I was confined to using a wheelchair and a walker, neither of which would fit through the bathroom door without scrapping the door frame and the door. My husband, who is a home remodeler, had installed this type of hinge for another house but when he went to the hardware stores, he couldn't find them. We found them on Amazon. They are sturdy and perfect for giving that last inch or so of clearance so a wheelchair or walker can get through the door without tearing up the frame or door. The installation is pretty straight forward, though I recommend two people doing it, as the door has to be removed to change the hinges and it has to be held in place to rehang it. They do not look out of place and are not noticeably different. They have to be pointed out to be noticed. We will keep these hinges on the bathroom doors after I recover because they look good, and you never know when you might have a sudden need for them like I did.

Made every door wheelchair accessible
These are great. We purchased a new home that was not wheelchair accessible. We were able to widen some doors but the structure of some areas made it impossible to widen others. I saw these hinges on Pinterest and ordered them. I was happily surprised at how much wider the doors are able to open now. We learned the hard way that the different door swing mitigates close tolerances between the door and the frame. Care has be taken to make sure the door still closes properly. But it is well worth the effort.

allowed me to keep my bedroom door for privacy....
These are absolute wonders if you have someone that ends up in a wheelchair and can't get thru the doorways due to the door, which was my situation when I got home from a double above knee amputation. I couldn't get into my bedroom door :( so it had to come off the hinges :(I missed my privacy, as I rent a room, and the sheet hanging where my door should be just wasn't good enough. My OT is actually the one to mention these and I did not hesitate on ordering them. They would also be good any time you find a need to have that extra inch of doorway that is available, without the door in the way. Just be careful you get them on the right way lol. I was not the one to put them on as I'm in the wheelchair now, but I had it lined up for the guy who was doing the work, and he managed to somehow turn it around, and the door would not close. He had to leave, so I made my OT fix it when she got here that afternoon. :)
