Educational Insights Wordical, Word Game for Kids, Ages 8+, 2-8 Players

I bought this with my students in mind who struggle with phonics. I introduced it, played a handful of games to get them use to it, and now they play on their own. Not a day goes by that my students want to play WORDICAL...It seems top be the request of every day, every period.I do think it helps with phonics and word building. I place a dictionary on the table and made some score sheets. It reminds me of Words with Friends. I think it's a simple, fun game, and it holds their interest while learning! I've noticed as time has passed, my students are trying to build longer words now.

I played this game with a group ages 40+ through 7. We all had fun. We ignored the rule about the first person to come up with a word gets the points and just gave everyone points for their words. Winner has the most points at the end of 5 rounds. We all had fun trying to help each other come up with the highest point word with your cards. It was great learning for the youngest two kids (8 and 7) and even fun for the older players. Its similar to scrabble with cards.

It's educational and quick game for learning word spelling by using dices and cards.

Fun & challenging for anyone who likes word games

After small group lessons that finish early, ten minutes is all you need to play this game, and the kids ask to play it. It gives opportunities to apply our spelling patterns and knowledge, use the dictionary to look up words (especially Z and Q words), and it is increasing our vocabulary. I play also, and the kids love to win over the teacher.

This game I can play with my first grade students through my 8th grade students. I just challenge them in different ways. They pick this game a lot on their fun Fridays.

Having a son will difficulties spelling this has been fun for him and a great way to get him wanting to learn

We got this as a family game and have enjoyed it, up to a point. The object is to think of a person, place, thing in a category written on the cards, as you flip them over, and when a symbol matches another player's card. The other players all know what their category is, having flipped their cards previously. So...when the next card is turned, and the symbols match another player...the opponent already has an answer to shout out. The "flipper," however...needs to 1) identify the matching symbol, 2) read their category, and 3) think of a person, place, thing to match, all in a very short amount of time. Meanwhile, the other player is ready with an answer immediately. I may not have explained it well - so I hope you can understand my thinking. As a parent with small kids, I can decide to "slow down" my own thinking, and allow my kids to process a response. Great concept...one minor flaw.

Está muy entretenido. Permite abreviaturas, nombres propios, interjections...La lata está muy bonita.Las cartas están bien.Si acaso yo lo que hice fue quitarle un carton que trae pues a veces las cartas se maltratan pues por el acomodo con el que vienen, se atoran en la tapa.Solución? Casi un año jugando y cada vez mejor. Las cartas se desgastan rápido. Punto a mejorar.

this game is better with more than three people and a desire for a quick action style game like "snap" or who knows how many others, but can still be enjoyable with just two people. Instead of going with the quick reaction stuff when I play this with my mum we just use a timer instead, usually 30secs-1:00, theres still pressure but with two people the penalties for coming in "last" make it fairly un-enjoyable (hinthint: include a tiny little digital timer in the tin, it allows for way more variation.)the cards are thick, glossy, and don't feel cheap. The Vowel dice could be thrown to bludgeon a small animal.the best part of all is not needing to bugger around with scrabble tiles and all that

This is like a scrabble game but portable and its fun to play with. The quality of the cards are great too!!

Realmente los materiales son de alta calidad y el envío fue bastante rápido, todo llego en perfectas condiciones y tiempo. El juego apenas lo utilizaré en mi salón de clases pero realmente sé que a mis alumnos les encantará, recomiendo ampliamente dicho material para las actividades lúdicas o simplemente por diversión con la familia.
