Getting the knowledge of my Nordic roots

I've been working on my family tree for about a year now. Many of my relatives are in Norway, Sweden and Denmark and the research has been challenging for those countries. This book has given me many tips on where to find additional documentation, as well as some really helpful information about what was going on in those countries during the time frames my ancestors were living there. Would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone that is looking to gather more information on your Scandinavian heritage.

One of my great grandfathers was born in Denmark and immigrated to the U.S. in the 1880s. This book is full of detailed information about each of the Scandinavian countries, it's history and immigration patterns. It also provides key resources for research. I have not done much with the research into old Danish records yet, but this book provides the tools to help me when I do it.

This a great beginners guide for Scandinavian research. Great list of links to websites for research. A great part of your Scandinavian library.

This had so many wonderful tips and ideas for research on my Scandinavian roots.

As excepted. Good.

Besides being full of good tips, this book is fun to read. The personal experiences (My Aunt Ginny was nicer to me than my Uncle Burt) are fun. The author's knowledge is excellent.
