Great value, Good guitar
delivered fast with no issues. The guitar looks great and sounds good. The pickups are decent. It definitely needs a setup and a change of strings. I thought there was a problem with the tuners but the strings were coming on wound, so the tuners are fine. Its a good guitar for a great price.

New go-to!
I LIKE this guitar a lot! The color (White) is not that common. The P90s give it a sound good for just about any genre. As soon as the strings were stretched, it stayed in tuned; the tuners are solid; the weight is perfect; the fretboard and action are spot-on; and the fit and finish is very good. This is my new GO-TO guitar!

Solid Guitar with some small issues
While very inexpensive, Firefly's are not necessarily good for beginners. They are, however, a great buy for the price and with a little work great guitars. This Double Cut with p90s is no different. If you are willing to put a little work into it and maybe some cash, you get a solid guitar. The only main issue out of the box was the bridge was kind of wonky.Pros and Cons:Pros - Solid Fit and Finish. Outside of the bridge issue there wasn't anything that"had" to be touched. Tuners were fine, though I think most people will replace them. Pick ups were good too.Cons - The bridge had to be replaced. The angle on it was so steep you could not get a very low action on it.I changed the tuners with some wilkinson locking tuners and replaced the pick ups with some used epiphone p90s I bought on reverb, as well as the bridge. I have about $200 in the guitar all in and I couldn't be happier with it.

Great value
Great guitar for the price. Mine was playable le out of the box. Sounds great in neck position, very warm. There are a few high frets that will need to be leveled. But this could happens on all guitars. I've bought $1000 guitars that needed this.Overall a great value. Some finish flaws but then again at this price is to be expected.

Extremely mixed bag
So this guitar has some things going for it. Other things, not so much.Tuners: Given how cheap the guitar is, the tuners were a huge bonus (on mine). They are a legit smooth set better than I have seen on these low end guitars and better than some of my decent end guitars.Pickups: have a nice growl to them, a hefty low end and a smooth high end, pretty much what you should expect from a set of legit p90’s; honestly I wasn’t expecting a legit p90 sound from something this cheap. Low end pickups often underwind the pickups etc to save money, these sound like they are actually pretty decent, not amazing, but dont need to be replaced anytime real soon. Only knock here is that the bridge is noticable quieter than the neck despite making height adjustments as much as you can with a p90.Pots: Legit full sized pots with large format caps in mine, quite shocked by this, but kudos. They taper nicely to volume and tone.Hardware: Seems to be decent enough quality that its definitely not bothering me. Lets see how long the finish etc lasts but for now, happy enough. The set up: the intonation was very near correct, nut is about right that I don’t see myself bothering. Action was hilariously high out of the box... probably to hide the next point...The Neck: The fret work on this guitar is probably the worst job I have ever seen. There was buzzing from the 3rd fret to the 10th fret on all of the strings. I initially thought this was down to the truss rod needing adjustments, it is not uncommon to see mid neck buzz when the truss rod is too loose but that actually made it worse despite experimenting both directions just in case.... Out came the fret rocker and found highs and lows all up and down the neck. Tried setting the frets first without much help. After extensive fret leveling (we are talking taking some of the frets down about an 1/8 to 1/4 of their original height) and crowning, the guitar was finally playable.Finish: Theres a lot here as well. The route around the pickups is VERY rough. There is a “wood veneer” looking binding on the edge of the neck that is cracking and flaking off (does hide the fret sprout though for what its worth). There are some areas that look like they accidentally hit the finished fretboard with some kind of saw blade, not sure if it jumped while cutting or what but there are a few gouges. There are a few areas of slightly heavy paint coverage where its almost bubbling up.Conclusion: Probably a bargain all in all if you know your way around fixing up a messed up guitar. Definitely not for a beginner unless you have a luthier in the family. Once you finish the repair projects, you get a guitar that is probably comparable in feel and sound to a $300-500, but it takes the time investment to get there. If you are planning on hiring someone to set it up, you probably should just buy a guitar with less issues from the get go.Not sure of the actual wood quality, but could see it being a decent upgrade platform given most of the guitar being decent enough, just replace whatever bothers you. Will eventually upgrade the pickups if I decide to keep this guitar long term, but definitely not in a rush, they are fine for now.

Quality control has gone done
3 out of 4 Firefly guitars have been returned. For the money okay. Good enough for a beginner.1st one was pretty good (335 style). 2nd one 335 style the nut was cut bad off center and not deep enough... returned. 3rd les paul Jr could not intonate and screw broke while trying to do the intonation... returned. 4th Double cut with two pickups stop bar tail piece the neck could not be adjusted for enough relief. The truss rod had no more adjustment...returned. Bottom line buy a Harley Benton for a little more money you get 10 times the guitar in most case more than that.

Do Not Buy this guitar if....
You're expecting an Arena -Rock-Ready Guitar. Be prepared to file and replace as necessary. No sniveling about the paint job. Will it play like a $2000 guitar after, I never had that pleasure. You're buying a $150 guitar. Put In the work and get to know your instrument. I changed the tuners, nut and bridge. Body and frets were excellent for the $$. Plays very well. These pickups and electronics are good. Everything else is cosmetic.
