Baby's First White Noise: White Noise CD for Babies

Update- my daughter is almost 3 and we use it every single night. She’s the best sleeper we have. I’m trying to find one for my sister n law but there rare all of the sudden. I love how it’s one sound so it won’t slip to a different sound/ track accidentally and disturb your sleeping child. One of the best finds ever!Update- 9 months later my 15 month old sleeps to this every nap and at night. Works great. I think a lot of people that this didn't work for didn't keep it going long enough... as in only tried it for a day or so. Try it for a week... make it loud-ish. Especially for light sleepers. My daughter is a super light sleeper except when we have this going. We can through a party down stairs and she'll never know the difference. And this makes a world of difference when we travelLove it so far it helps my six-month-old sleep every night in all of her naps

I bought one of these 2 years ago for my son, and we've used it every single night since he started sleeping in his crib. At first, I think it did help establish a bedtime routine and help him fall asleep...I doubt he still needs it for that reason. But we still use it because it dulls out the sound of me doing the dishes downstairs, my husband watching tv a little too loud, etc. I tell all my pregnant friends to get this because like I said, once they grow out of the "babies are soothed by white noise" phase, they'll love having it for the "keep the toddler asleep and make as much noise as you want downstairs" phase! I'm pregnant with #2, which is why we bought a second one, and if I have another, you can bet I'll be buying another. I don't have a whole lot of background knowledge about different sounds that different white noise can make, but apparently some cd's you can detect where the "loop" is (this one you cannot). It's continuous, even, and soft. With my son, I was originally looking for a white noise machine. I bought this and a nice boom box for his nursery instead. Spent about the same amount as I would have on a white noise machine, but now we use the boom box all the time to play his other cd's as well, so I'm glad I made that purchase. For the price, I don't think you can come across better sounding white noise.

After having a baby I realized the importance of a soothing background noise during sleep. After sleeping in a very quiet room with my newborn I quickly found this cd online & purchased it. It helps with colic also. When my newborn would start the colic cry I would take her in the room & turn on this cd. The cd player has to have a repeat button in order for the cd to play continually through the night (or naptime). After a year my cd player quit working. I purchased an air purifer & the noise replaced the white noise cd. This cd is a great product. It was cheaper than the air purifer.

Our three month old has been sleeping about 11 hours at night but she was waking up one or two times during those hours. We bought this CD hoping to get her to sleep a straight 8 or 9. Well this worked! We put this CD on when we put her in her crib and put it on repeat. She slept 9 1/2 hours the first night. We couldn't believe it. We were using the Gentle Giraffe at night but it turned off after 45 minutes and then she would wake up because it turned off abruptly. This CD fades in and out so it doesn't startle her. We highly recommend this CD since it is the first time that our baby has slept like this!

This CD makes staticky, incoherent noises that are incessantly annoying, monotonous, and brain melting..but, that's okay, because that's the noise it said it was supposed to make. Apparently, this horrid noise makes some people/babies fall asleep. Didn't work for my 6 month old, which I'm not altogether sad about because now I don't have to hear it either, but I don't blame the CD. It was worth a try, oh well. What did work?  Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Coldplay . Which is creepy and unsettling in its own way, but at least it has melody...

My daughter started using this after the twins were 3 months old. It helped some, but I believe we should have started as soon as they came home from the hospital. It does help, but doesn't keep them sleeping all night. More like 4-5 hours which is better than 3 hours. It's a better CD than others because it plays for 74 minutes and can be repeated all night. The babies cannot tell when it switches from the end to the beginning. Never startled like other CDs. If you are looking for a white noise CD, this is the one. Delivery from company was quick.

We ordered this CD because we were using the iPad with YouTube and hubby didn't want it burning out. Since using this CD our daughter sleeps in 5 hour increments in the night, which is amazing for a 6 week old. I love that it's not a bunch of different sounds, it's one constant background noise that sounds like a bathroom fan. I definitely recommend getting this.

i had an mp3 cd that played this white noise for about 5 hrs straight but then the cheap stereo that i bought stopped playing mp3s. so i had to resort to this one, which is great, just wish that when i repeat it, it didnt fade in and out but its a good feature for those who need 'closure' or a gradual beginning. i like the length of the white noise...just over an hr. wish the cd were cheaper tho, but it works GREAT for my now 9mos old who will wake up at the sound of a pin drop.
