Really comfy daytime bed for 34 lb dog
We wanted to replace the extra dog bed in the house and I was looking for one that I’d be easy to drag until the porch (so not a fabric bottom) and easy to wash the cover. This bed fits both of those bills. It’s an easy zip on zip off cover. I won’t speak to waterproof ness, that’s not why we got it, I just wanted to be able to easily clean it after taking it outside and you definitely can. That said, the shredded memory foam in this is AWESOME. Our dog is 34 pounds and it’s about the perfect amount of squish for her. We got her a bed with a solid 4” thick piece of foam in it before, and while she definitely doesn’t hit the bottom In that one I also feel like it’s a little TOO much support, in that it’s stiffer than she likes. This one squished and decent amount but because it’s nice quality memory foam shreds (not cheap poly fill) it’s not flattening. It squished right back when she gets up.She normally prefers a bed that has cozy sides because likes to sleep in a ball up against edges, but she has taken to sleeping on this one in the day time too, sometimes instead of the couch even (her favorite thing).Honestly wish this also came in a version that had the same memory foam shred mattress but with cuddler walls around it. I am considering buying a second one to take out the block foam in her normal nighttime bed and put the mattress from this one in there she has the best of both worlds. My *only* complaint is that if she licks the bed a little around her paws it definitely shows a dark wet spot until it dries (this is the light grey color). After drying it’s fine though. It is a nice looking bed too! Love the colorful trim edge!

my house doesn't smell like dog
My question after owning 104 dog beds: can I wash the cover over and over and over, and will the interior retain it's density? Yes! Dog loves it because it's cushy and comfy. I love it because my house doesn't smell like dog. I chose the medium size so Beagle can stretch out and watch her favorite tv shows and she was so pleased with it, she asked that I order another for her crate. The medium is a snug fit for the crate but works great. The thickness of the cushion has certainly made a difference in how she's able to get up after lying for a long period of time. Again, and most importantly, I can keep it clean. The cover can be easily vacuumed and unzipped for washing. Pet owner tip: Walgreens sells hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle that you can use to spray the foam interior--or anything for that matter--and it will invariably remove any pet smell. Urine, poop, nondescript pet stink, whatever. Seriously, it's the best kept secret. Doesn't discolor. Doesn't just cover up. Anyway, spray the foam bed, and by the time the cover comes out of the dryer, you won't even remember you have a teenager. I mean a dog. Who's bath time is the responsibility of your 17 year-old. Who's like having a second dog. Don't judge me. Kids are hard.Update: 2+ years and the bed inserts are still fluffy and the washable cover is still fully functioning. I expected the zipper to retire itself at some point, but no. I'm utterly impressed with this product. I have two of these beds. Both covers have been washed at least once a week for over two years. No seam tears, no fraying at the zipper. On another note, said teenager discussed in my original review, who is now 19 and a college sophomore was just home for break. Genius leaves a bag of M&Ms, a sandwich, and a Costo-size bag of Doritos in the living room while venturing back into the kitchen because he needed a 2nd Dr Pepper--after two Mountain Dews (Bad Mom award. I've simply given up the food battle. He's 6'3 and has the physique of an olympic athlete so he's believes he's invincible. I don't know if I'm disgusted or envious). Now, if you don't have a hound, you will never understand that you cannot leave food unattended for even a second. Beagle ate the candy, ate the chips, and finished off the Mountain Dew. I mean, why would one throw away a mostly empty cans of soda on his way back into the kitchen? Oh, and she clearly savored both the sandwich and the delicious signature-stamped tissue it was wrapped in. This took less than 45 seconds. What happened 30 minutes later was that of a crime scene because Genius decided to jail the dog in her crate for behavior unbecoming and head upstairs. I'll refrain from graphic details, but bed was duck taped closed inside of an industrial strength garbage bag and sent directly to the trash. Replacement ordered without hesitation. Posting another photo of Beagle after she'd plead guilty and suffering a binge hangover on her two year-old bed. And yes, you better believe I made Genius clean up the mess. Messes. Plural. For three days. "MOM! I need help! MOM!" Nope. Not a two person job, kid. Good Mom award.

Exceptional dog bed
I bought this for a pound puppy I recently adopted. I have another dog bed for my 4 year old border collie, and I was so impressed with this bed that I'm buying him one to match. This bed is very supportive, washes well, it's easy to get the cover back on, and I like that it has two sides for the dog's comfort. That said, the new dog wants to claw at and bite at the "cool" side. This side of the fabric will easily shred, as it's thinner material. ANY fabric is going to shred if a dog chews at it, common sense really, so you simply have to train the dog against those destructive behaviors. I got on her about it before any tears occurred, and I have noticed that she prefers the plush side, so that's the side I keep up for her. The puppy is no longer abusing her bed and actually loves going to it for a nap. I like that the inside is packed shredded foam, because the bed can be fluffed easily and has the perfect amount of fill to keep the bed firm enough, with a gentle crown across the middle. Our older dog bed is memory foam, and it compressed fairly easily under a 35 pound dog. This bed is attractive and of very good quality, but it is not indestructible (but neither are furniture, upholstery, carpet, slippers, dog toys). If properly used, it will last a long time.

Great dog bed!
Exactly as described! The cover is soft and has a zipper on two sides which makes it really easy to remove. I love that the cover is machine washable and that the bed has a secondary, waterproof lining. I will admit, it's a bit difficult to know which size to order. I have a Goldendoodle puppy (1/2 golden retriever, 1/2 standard poodle) that will grow to about 60-70 lbs. In the product description, the 'Medium' bed size is recommended for dogs up to 50 lbs, so I went with the 'Large'. When the product arrived, the tag says that a 'Medium' bed is recommended for Golden Retrievers and Standard Poodles so I started to think the bed I got might to be too big. Not a big deal, I'm going to keep the Large because I'm going by weight and my dog will likely weigh more than 50 lbs when he's full grown. At least if he likes to sprawl out when he sleeps he'll have some extra space to do so!

Contented dog
We have tried other memory foam beds, but they have not been suitable as they were higher and much firmer. The large size is just about big enough for our Deerhound, he has arthritis and the soft foam is easy for him to get on and off, and so far it appears to be more comfortable and supportive for him.

Truly great dog bed!
This dog bed is wonderful! I read several reviews on this product and I have to say I would agree with most of the other reviewers thoughts on this bed, which I think speaks volumes on the consistency of quality and design. If I were to summarize what the most repetitive comments are in the reviews, it'd be something like: "Love the bed, love the quality and look of it, love how easy it is to clean, the dog loved it right away, so comfortable people lay on it with the dog (or without), we bought another one almost immediately".The long of it: We have a French Bulldog, Stella, who recently had surgery so we were looking for a comfortable yet supportive bed for her during recovery. This product fit the bill exactly for us. Stella went to this bed immediately to lay down and spends most of the day resting on it. It's worth mentioning that while we have tried in the past to have her become a dog who sleeps on a dog bed, she always ended up on our bed or the couch. Now, she sleeps the entire night on this bed! That did it for us, we were so blown away that she was actually using it that we bought a second one about 2 weeks after the first - one for upstairs, one for downstairs. She loves it so much, so we are thrilled with our purchase(s) and felt the need to share this feedback to anyone considering this dog bed. Also, feel the need to reiterate what the other reviewers have said about the negative reviews. This bed has quality construction and would probably fare pretty well against some light chewing (compared to less expensive options), but it is by no means indestructible. In my opinion, it is unreasonable to give it a one star rating simply because your dog chewed through it. The second most stated negative review is that people have put the entire bed into the wash and destroyed it. The product comes with instructions that very clearly tell you NOT to put the insert into the wash and to only wash the removable cover. So yes, if you know your dog to be a chewer, if you have a puppy that is teething or potty training and you're worried you won't be able to clean it if your dog has an accident, then this probably is not the right bed for your dog, otherwise do not put much stock in these reviews when making your decision.
