Great beginner set. Took my son to trout fishing. We are able to catch big trouts with this rod. The bag is easy to carry and store in the car.

I love these rods. I have this one and the ladies' pink one for my wife.I do freshwater lake, river, and reservoir fishing.This one's reel can take up to 12lb. test. Specs are pictured.Caught a big bass today with a rooster tail and very easy to get it in. Everything works smoothly.Casts easy and reel spins smoothly and easy to take apart and reassemble should you need to. Bail movement is excellent.Rod is lightweight and feels balanced in my hand while fishing. A pleasure to use.Rod is sensitive so it is easy to feel the bottom, and bites, and movement of spinner baits and others.I really love the telescoping feature as it collapses to such a small size. Cannot say enough about this. I love the telescoping feature. Collapses in just a few seconds and can put it right in the trunk for storage, and easy to walk away from fishing spot without having to worry about where the tip is like you do in a one or two piece rod.The metal guide eye fittings are beautiful, as is the rest of the rod and reel as they have a nice finish. I also like the design of the hook anchor rings. It is nice that these rods have this feature.I keep this and my wife's Plussino rods in the car trunk in a box as pictured. Makes it so convenient to store and fish as I can have them with me anytime.Cannot say enough good things about these rods. So much fun to use. Price is nice and affordable.I fish them with all kinds of lures and frogs.

First off, I really like the reel. Very smooth in operation and seems to be well made of quality materials. The telescoping rod makes it VERY easy to transport, especially in a packed car for vacation. You can bring the rod anywhere, and I have it as a backup/extra rod whenever I go fishing. It's also versatile enough for freshwater or saltwater fishing.What makes this less than a 5 star product in my opinion is I have some concerns about durability. The rod itself seems strong and sturdy enough even though it telescopes, but the eyelets specifically seem a bit flimsy and bend fairly easily. I haven't caught anything big enough yet to really test their strength but I could see these snapping over time with enough use. Maybe I'll be proven wrong but it's definitely my biggest hesitation with the rod. It's a shame because, outside of that, I'm impressed with what Plussino has done with this rod.

These poles and reals are very nice, although I havent used them as of now but I did put them through a test of my own and the poles seem to be very tough and the reals are very nice with sealed bearings and a very smoth action while spinning plus the handle folds by a push of a button, so far I am incredibly impressed.

Now, I am no fisherman/woman...I dont know much about fishing poles. I just know I like to take my kids camping and fishing! We usually borrow rods from family members. We'll after borrowing some OLD rods from people and them breaking on us I decided to get my kids their own! I read quite a few reviews on different rods and somehow chose this one. I am glad that I did. Before using them, my fiance even said that he hoped I bought good ones! He is usually the one who is stringing them up and whatnot. He loves these rods! We have used a handful of times while camping and have had no issues with them. They are really strong and sturdy. What we love about them is how they can be taken apart and put into that little bag! He thought it would have been a pain to do this but I guess it was pretty easy for him. I got 2 of the same ones. My 17 yr old and 8 year old uses them. It is a little big for the 8 year old. He gets by using it but he could have used a shorter one. I just didn't know anything about sizes. I also didn't want to have to get a new bigger one in a year. Like I said, my youngest still uses it with no real issues. We consider this a pretty good purchase on my part!

I am so disappointed and embarrassed. My mother in law came to visit us from Europe and I wanted to take her fishing somewhere here in Puerto Rico so I bought these fishing rods. I thought they were good (I am not a fishing guy), you get two collapsible rods which is great for traveling which is why I got these, so she can easily pack them up and take them home. This woman is avid fisherman, she spent hours by the water almost every day. Almost every day there was a PROBLEM with one of the rods. So it’s not the user error, I know very well she knows how to properly use the fishing gear. She ended up leaving one of the rods behind because it became completely faulty. She couldn’t even extend it to use it, it got stuck. Also there was a problem with the reel on the same rod. It would get stuck. She even opened to look inside the reel thinking maybe sand grains fell into and somehow got it stuck? I don’t know. All I know is Many reviews said this is great value but I am absolutely mortified especially after my wife and I made a big deal about surprise and MIL opening the Amazon box. A complete disaster.

Very reliable rod!

Rod is perfect size to fish from a small boat but way too thin and flimsy, you won’t be able to catch bigger fish than 2+ pounds without having some trouble. It vibrates /shakes way too much even with a small fish I can’t imagine catching a bass with it. Fishing line is way too thin won’t be able to handle the pressure from bass or trout may be able to handle porgy only so if you get it and decide to keep it u need to put 20+ pound fishing line. May be good for kids but not recommended for adults in my opinion. Price is fearly good nor the kit but can you make it work? I don’t thing so unless you only care to relax and have fishing time without catching but the fun is when u catch it even if you release it.
