We like this item. The shampoo and conditioner is great for people's hair too.

We learned about this product from a local horse lady. She told us that she not only used it on her horses but also on her dogs and everyone else in her family. Now that got my attention! So I went to Tractor Supply the first time and bought a 12 oz. bottle. Both my wife and I tried it and found it to be very rich, that it lathered easily and extensively, that it was easy to rinse out of our hair, and that it left our hair soft and sweet smelling.So we subjected it to the true test and used it on our two rescue Irish Wolfhounds. Piper is a 115 lb female and Finnegan is a 180 lb. male. Neither one likes baths very much but they have learned to be patient with us if we use warm water when washing them and then a hose to rinse them off. Their favorite part is the drying off with coarse towels, a combination of removing the water while playing a difficult game of "keep away" with them.A major consideration is the cost comparison. You can buy a 12 oz. bottle of the shampoo for around $8.00 or a gallon (128 oz.) of the shampoo for $28.49. Ten 12 oz. bottles would cost you about $80.00 and you would still be short 8 oz. of the shampoo. Such a deal the gallon size is!

I have used this shampoo for years. I’ve used other brands but always ended up going back to Mane and Tail.

We buy this by the gallon. It is thick, so about a handful of it is diluted in a 2 gallon bucket of warm water. It makes lots of suds, and will rinse reasonably well. It works, and is less expensive than most other horse shampoos.I have a white horse. He is a white Shire gelding, with lovely feathers, a full mane and tail. He prefers to be in the pasture with his buddies. He prefers to play in any available water or mud. It makes him so happy. <sigh>Washing him is pointless, but every now and then, we play "My Little Pony". He gets all clean and shiny, and we 'ooh' and 'aah' over how wonderful he looks, and we take his photo, and then he wanders off into the pasture to snooze with his best friends. And when we return that evening for the last feeding of the day, he is joyfully muddy again.The suds work, the smell is light, it rinses well. It is less expensive than most others. Your mileage may vary, especially if you do not have a white horse.

I like this shampoo a lot, have been using it for years, decided to buy a gallon instead of the smaller bottles. My only issue with it was the fact that it leaked in transit from around a lid that wasn’t tight enough.

I used to use this when I was little my hair was so healthy and thick and would grow super fast then I got older kinda forgot about this stuff at about was using other brands and at 27 I started to notice my hair was unhealthy wasn’t growing as fast dry and thinning, so I switched back to this and my how is back to healthy thick and growing again and super shiny I’m super happy they finally have bigger bottles will never change back to other brands!!!!
