I will start by saying I've purchased a few other Safavieh rugs from Amazon, and for the money I always feel I'm getting a good value. They are various sizes and materials, and they've always come well packaged (rolled up). This rug was the third try for my living room. I LOVE it. The others were not quite right in color, size, pattern etc. This one is absolutely perfect.I live in a third floor walk-up (no elevator), so it's nice to have these giant 9x12 or 8x11 rugs delivered right to my door. Those that didn't work out, I scheduled a UPS pickup for convenience.For those who have written that it has a smell - yes, it's made of polyester people. It says right on the label that it will smell and that it will air out after a few days. Open a window! If you don't want a smell or you're overly senstitive, buy a cotton or wool rug. For those that say it doesn't lie flat - yes, it's been rolled up and vacuum sealed! It says right on the label that it will lie flat after a few days.Someone wrote a review on a 9x12 rug that you should "be prepared to wrestle it into submission". Yes, I agree; I live alone and it was a bit of a struggle to get it into place. It is cumbersome and heavy. Once the wrestling was over, it was well worth the struggle, but call a friend maybe.The rug looks rich and expensive. It goes beautifully with my decor and furniture. The softness is wonderful under bare feet. For the price and the door to door service (and free shipping with Amazon Prime), you really can't go wrong!

First let me say I really like how the carpet was packaged. I initially felt a plush Safavieh carpet at my son's house. I was extremely impressed with the plushness and quality! So I had to have one too, but not as plush.So here's the bottom line: you won't find a better rug/brand and quality for this price! For me it was the exact plushness (softness and thickness) that I was looking for and a large-sized rug that wouldn't break the bank.As usual buying any mercantile product online makes anyone apprehensive, especially a large rug. What if the quality isn't good? Now we have to go through the time and effort to return it. No one wants to do that! I can say I don't see that happening with this rug.Let me conclude that I'm highly impressed with a Safavieh rug and this Amazon purchase that I had to take a picture and share my experience - this is not my first review; however, it's definitely my first review with a picture.

The quality is absolutely amazing. I was very hesitant with the other reviews about the corners not flattening out, or the overwhelming smell but I did not experience any of that. The rug came sooner than expected and was professionally packaged. The corners flattened out in just a few hours. The rug itself is thick and very soft. We have two dogs who are constantly running around the house and it seems like this will hold up over time. No need for a padding underneath, and the colors are just as advertised. The pattern is beautiful, and for this price point this is a steal.

I looked all over for the perfect dining room rug. I have 2 other Safavieh rugs and love them! This one did not disappoint. Exactly as described. Very beautiful! Looks expensive and is rather neutral. Perfect pile for a dining room! The pictures are literally day 1 so it needs some time to lay flat so that is to be expected. Zero smell!

Pretty happy with the overall value. Colors are very nice and true to what I saw on my monitor. It is not the thickest rug but seems like it will hold up for a reasonable amount of time. Still waiting for the intense chemical smell to dissipate. Had to move it to an open area because smell was making me sick. Another few days before I decide if I need to return it. It's pretty, but not worth getting sick for.An update ... one star increase. After 4 weeks or so the smell dissipated and is now in a smaller room. Still an attractive rug but may not last long enough for a very high traffic area. Good value overall.

This is a lovely carpet. It's soft and seems like it would be durable. However, the anthracite/teal colors are more like silvery-black and blue. I expected the teal to be a bit more greenish as shown in the photo; thus, it was a total mismatch to all of my other "teal" items. Sad to return it, but it's going back.

Love Safavieh but this rug is NOT the colors pictured. More like gold, pale blue and peach tones. The teal and gray are very light. I have to return it as it does not match my living room :(

Love the colors. The smell once opened is almost nauseating. There is some sort of sticky/greasy substance you get on your hands when rolling the rug open. If it weren't for the smell and my hands feeling like they've been dipped in sunscreen I would recommend this item. For now I am considering sending it back or at least asking for a replacement. I do really like the colors and the pattern...As an update. After the rugs "offgassed" and a good Lysol spray was applied, they improved. The colors work great in our kitchen. Green/gray, creams and reds are the majority colors. There is some odd discoloration at the edges, which is the only reason why I upgraded only to 3 stars...
