Worth it! Dog runs hot and loves this
My golden retriever absolutely LOVES this! The down side is that he leaves my side of the bed now because he can go find a nice cool spot. I think after he has been on it for a while he no longer cools, but that is expected. He now rotates through his bed, beside me, and his cooling mat throughout the night.

My husky/German shepherd mix loves this!
Update Nov. 2022: have had the mat for a two solid months and even though my pup enjoys the cooling effects of the mat, it does not appear to be durable. My pup gets regular nail trims but somehow, through normal use, he managed to slice a small tear in the mat so the liquid inside seeps out little by little with pressure. Disappointed. My husky German shepherd mix wasn’t sure about this mat at first but when he finally gave into curiosity and laid on it, he hasn’t stopped. When we come home from a walk or a romp at the dog park, he goes directly to this mat. He gets hot during the night and often jumps off the bed to go lay downstairs where the cool draft is from the air conditioner but in the mornings lately, I have been finding him sleeping on this mat. Safe to say it’s a hit!

Glorified pee pads at BEST
Less than impressed honestly. I live in Southern California, where it's hot as hell on the regular, and this summer, it has been in the 90s-100s pretty regularly. I have two pugs, and not only do they overheat easily with all of their rolls, one of them can't use her back legs and get water or cool off as easily as the other, so I figured this would be the perfect solution for her.I ended up ordering two because the sizes were funky. I ordered a large for our handicapped dog, and it fit perfectly in her dog bed (i don't know the dementions of the bed, but it's an XL dog bed, usually for large dogs). I noticed when I got it that the pad wasn't cold, or even mildly cool to the touch, so I attempted to put it in the freezer, which was a mistake; it expanded and I accidently broke a part of my freezer drawer (I'm not knocking a star off for that obviously, since it was my own mistake, but I want to make sure people know what will happen!). Overall, the pad still didn't seem cool once it thawed either. We normally have to put ice packs on our handicapped pug when she overheats, and I still find myself doing that just as often as before. We still keep it on her bed out of habit, since it also stops her from peeing into the dog bed, but it isn't cold in the slightest, so now it's really just an overpriced pee pad.I also purchased an XL pad because of the great reviews. Our other dog normally likes to cool down on the tile floor in our kitchen, but she is also old and can't go down the stairs to the kitchen, so I figured I'd keep it on the carpet. She seemed totally uninterested in the thing. I'd have to bribe her with treats just to sit on the mat, but that was the only time she'd go on it. I even put her water bowl on the mat, and she'd rather whine in front of the mat for water than to go over it to drink. I'm not sure if it's the texture of the mat on her nails or if she's just picky or just doesn't see the point, but she has zero interest in it. I attached a photo of her napping, and no matter how much I tried to get her to nap or even sit on the mat, she wanted nothing to do with it.So now I have these two pads that are basically a waste of money. I feel like if you live somewhere that's already cold, the mats will also be cold. But if you live anywhere that gets warmer than 70°, it's useless. Pretty disappointed, as our family was looking forward to finding some temperature relief for our dogs.

It does cool down when sat on. Dog likes it.
My thick coat doggo enjoys it. He can sleep comfortable at night with us. I sat on it with him and it is cooling, I actually got a little to chilly.

Amazing!....ly short life
This mat is fantastic, I have two 100lb Wooly Malamutes and they loved it. Only problem is that simply walking on it they would periodically puncture the mat with their trimmed nails.Aside from that the gel that leaked out wiped up easily, duct tape sealed it good until the gel slithered it’s way between the tape and the May’s exterior.Standing on the mat you can feel it cooling your feet through socks on about 3 seconds it works fast and it’s very comfortable. I’d totally buy one to go under the sheets in my bed. But I would not buy this again for my pets. I never tested it but I highly doubt that any sort of cover would save it from getting destroyed. All in all it lasted 2 months until my second dog discovered it. Once they both started laying on it it had about one week to live as the holes got bigger and wider until nothing could be done to save it.3 / 5 stars because for the price the short life span isn’t worth that value. But aside from that it works amazingly well. If they make a new material that’s puncture proof and doesn’t sacrifice the chill factor I’ll buy two instantly.

Keep your dog cool and comfortable!
My Cardigan Welsh Corgi does not like to be hot, and when it's really warm, my Whippet doesn't like it either. Both benefit so much from their Chillz Dog Cooling Mats. When we travel for agility trials in the summer, I make sure my Corgi has a Chillz mat in his crate for a comfortable night's sleep. Both dogs like the cool and comfort provided when their Chillz mats are in their crates at agility trials. Most crate mats are plush or furry, and that's great in the winter, but in warm weather, they need cushion and cool and with these mats they get both. They feel better and perform better, thanks to their Chillz Dog Cooling Mats.

Not for teething puppy’s and dogs that chew on stuff.
Got it for my new puppy because I noticed he loved sleeping on the super cold tile next to the open window and I wanted him to feel comfortable on my bed to. He loves it, it does exactly what it says it does. Could be a little colder but it works. (THE IMPORTANT PART) as I mentioned above he is a puppy, I’ve had it for a little over a month and at some point I noticed a wet spot on my blanket. I didn’t think he peed but I had no clue what it was from. I recently realized he chewed a hole in it and now it’s leaking some sort of liquid EVERYWHERE. I’m beyond sad especially since I can’t even return it now. As far as I can tell it doesn’t say anywhere that I should be cautious and make sure it doesn’t get popped. Honestly, to have liquid (probably not safe for dogs) inside a mat “for dogs” rapped in thin easily breakable plastic is pretty stupid. At the same time though, he loves this thing so much. Ig I might try to fix it, but wether I fix the hole or not a big section of the mat is now flat and no longer cold because the cooling agent has leaked out.
