Awesome Fitness watch
If you're looking for a true fitness watch, this is it. I thought smart watches were good at tracking fitness, until I met the Fenix. I got tired of the 2 day battery life, terrible sync issues, random alerts, bad step tracking etc.I ended up biting the bullet and and paying a hefty price for the fenix 6 pro, and i've not been sorry for 1 second. On average i get 3 weeks of battery life, HUGE win in my book. For cardio, biking, running, walking etc the fitness tracking works great GPS reception is fantastic. However i also do a lot of weight lifting, and that part sucks... but to be fair no one has this figured out yet. Garmin does have a build your own workout section, and the fenix does a decent job of tracking reps, as long as there's a significant amount of movement. However, you're constantly pushing buttons and adjusting rep count, rest etc. it's just too clunky while at the gym. This watch also keeps me honest on my fitness activities. My previous smart watches would track steps at the slightest wrist movement. for example if i went out in my rzr i'd end up with 20k steps, just from riding around, and i certainly didn't drink that much beer... The Fenix does a much better job of tracking actual physical movement. The watch is big, so if you have smaller wrists, the 6x may be a better option as the pro is taller due to the larger battery.I find the watch pretty comfortable, and i do sleep with mine on, which rarely bothers me. Yes i'm a stomach/side sleeper so my head is usually laying on my arms, and still have very little issues with it.The smart alerts and sync with my phone has been perfect. my watch will often buzz before my phone does on text alerts.I've used several samsung, iwatches, and fitbits. They all fall down compared to Garmin.

Amazing fitness watch... leaves behind the gimmicks and delivers what's most important.
This watch is perfect for those that are interested in a watch that works well, but maybe doesn't deliver the gimmicks that the other major players may include.Benefits:- GPS is spot on. I did a 24mile rim2rim grand canyon hike. My watch read 23.9 miles at the end. Make sure to verify "GPS+GLONASS" setting is selected.- Battery life is without compare. I charge about once a week (takes about an hour). This means you can sleep with the watch on every night.- Displays during activities are highly configurable and work great.- Ability to auto-lap at the 1-mile mark for activities- Intelligent training advice and tracking based on v02 and aerobic/anaerobic activities- Daily summary and info via the Connect app is intuitive and informative without panderingBe aware:- Can be time consuming to configure everything the way you want- Default watch faces are basic. Downloadable ones are amazing (I'm currently using the 'crystal' face)- No touch screen. I feel this is a positive. I don't want a tiny touch screen getting accidentally hit more than actually used.Draw backs:- Screen is not super bright when compared to other watches.... as a result, the battery lasts forever. I have never had an issue seeing the watch in the sun.- Reading text messages and phone 'stuff' isn't great. however, this is why I have a phone...- Map stuff is kind of worthless... I use my phone if I need to look at a map.I suggest this watch for individuals that are serious about recording activity. If you're looking for a decorative status symbol, maybe consider the alternative... for me, I have since purchased Fenix watches for the rest of my family.

High Quality
My Fenix 6X Pro is 4 years old now and I don't see a compelling reason to upgrade right now. It is mainly used for exercise tracking (running/walking) and serves me well as a casual beater. The battery still shows 22 days on a full charge, and it seems like it does last. The original strap was accidentally damaged while working outside but it held up well while it lasted. No worries, replacement straps were easy to find.

Why did it take me so long to get a Garmin?
I've always tracked rides or hikes using Strava and All Trails on my phone, but finally decided to splurge and get the Garmin Fenix 6X Pro after considerable research. My wife about had a coronary when she saw I spent over $600 on a watch, but as an avid backpacker that does 7-10 day trips in the Sierras I was sold on the Fenix which comes pre-loaded with a topo and has a 60 hour battery life when tracking with GPS. The pre-loaded topo and Strava/All Trails app integrations were the deciding reasons for not getting the Coros. The battery life on the Coros is also excellent, but there's no topo, so I splurged on the Fenix. On my first hike I couldn't believe the data I could find at a glance. I'm typically hiking with a particular distance or elevation goal in mind as I'm typically training for big hikes or backpacking trips. Being able to quickly track elevation gain, distance, pace, sunset time, etc. in real time without unlocking my phone and opening an app has been a game changer. I can't imagine training without it.Being able to add and personalize data screens so that I can quickly cycle through different metrics I'm tracking on training hikes is unbelievable. I've also pre-loaded courses for big hikes where I'd like to use my watch for navigation instead of breaking out my phone or a physical topo. The elevation chart that lets me track progress helps me pace myself. Using the watch instead of a phone app means I'm not draining the phone battery, and I can easily see when I'm off course or when I need to connect with another trail. I found the audible navigation alerts annoying, but I was able to turn those off. It seems like there's no limit to the settings you can adjust to your own personal preferences.
