How to Play Guitar in 14 Days: Daily Guitar Lessons for Beginners (Play Music in 14 Days)

Great Guitar Instruction!
I'm still working on the book, it appears to contain what I learned after 11 months of guitar instruction and then some. The private lessons were very helpful, but a teacher can only do so much. I also had about a years worth of lessons many years ago and have read & practiced from other books for several years. The book contains a lot of information and the suggested 15 minutes of practice for each section is a great idea. The book is easy to understand. I have had no issues with the audio & have purchased several of Troy Nelson's books because I really like his method. The book is easy to understand but if you are completely new you might have questions so it would be helpful to have a teacher willing to work with you, or a friend to show you some things. You Tube is also helpful. Guitar is not something you can learn quickly, but I think this book leads the right direction.

Great for beginners
I've hardly played guitar before but I've tried many times. I started off learning the basic open strumming chords, but I could never quite get past the obstacle of my fingers moving so slow. I struggled for quite a while to be able to move my fingers between chords fast enough, but the first part of this book has you tune your guitar to an open E tuning so that you can practice moving your fingers far easier than other books let you, and it really helped me get the finger movement practice I needed to be able to feel more comfortable with moving my fingers between chords. Really great book!

Im a beginer and it was really tough!
I was excited when this arrived in the post, I was thinking maybe this book would help guide me through the very basics. Re reading through the book they give information on many things but I don't have music theory behind me which in turn most information would go over my head. When I get into the chords and other basic knowledge of guitar music ill probably return to this booklet and hope many terms and technicalities will finally be absorbed.I'm not 5 starring it based on I'm a beginner/ learner for guitar and I feel this book is mainly aimed at above amateurs in the guitar industry. My advice: If you have had any guitar knowledge or guitar music theory this book will be for you.

Perhaps not 14 days but worth a look
Playing in 14 days is very ambitious as it involves an hour and a half per day. Despite that this is a very good book and takes you step by step to playing the guitar. Week one involves an alternative tuning that initially put me off, but makes you sound better in the early days and helps build confidence. Week two involves a standard tuning and means that you are really playing using techniques learned in week one. There are sections on blues shuffle, strumming patterns, single note picking, chords and much more. You could complete the course in a fortnight but six weeks is probably more likely. All in all a good book to get you started quickly.

early days
I was hoping for a book that was a bit more straight forward for someone that has never played a guitar before, i don't really want to start de tuning my guitar to learn stuff then go back to standard tuning for the rest of the lesson. i remember the first thing i did so to detune then change would confuse me.

My experience is the book is too wide and varied for me.
Other publications suited me better that focused on chords / songs to accompany in more detail before progressing further
