I’ve only used them once but seem to be pretty well made. They’re a little bigger than I expected. You could probably use a 1 inch rope with them if you needed to.

The 'eight' is well made and nicely finished. The price makes it a bargain, especially when you see other versions of what looks like the same product on sale at a higher price.The only drawback that one might have would be with lack of UIAA certification and the stated load rating, if you are going to use it for serious climbing. I am using it on relatively moderately angled slopes and not for vertical descents.

These are great! I have a few other figure 8 descenders, but these are better. They develop less heat than the others because of their smoother design and thicker body, yet provide the same amount of friction and control.
