Dark Kings Series
This novel is #6 in the series, "Dark Kings" by author; Donna Grant. Okay, I'm 6 novels into this series and there's just not enough praises to give to it! Another great addition to that HOT Scottish Alpha male that's able to shift into their natural form as a Dragon! This story has a lot of heart, heartbreak, some crazy passion and of course there's the plot twist that has the reader saying "OMG! Seriously!!" I fell in love with the female main character and her spunkiness. She's just super unique! I did find myself chuckling over another character whose story is coming up soon because he was just funny. This is a GREAT series, it really is. If you are stuck in a book rut give this series and author a try. You really won't be disappointed! =)

He is a protector and she has aided the enemy
This book was originally read as apart of the Audible Escape package, then later purchased as a Kindle eBook to read at my own Leisure. Soul Scorched #6 in the Dark King series; which is a part of the greater Dark World. Characters from previous books appear and longer subplots are beginning to form.Warrick with his powers of Protection must, protect and save a fortune-telling Druid from the Isle of Sky who has given aid to the Enemy. She is being attacked from all sides, his enemies and his friends…who can she trust. As with all Donna Grant books in the Dark World series once you get in… it is hard to get out.

The think she is the one that unbound some of Ulrch's magic. They need to know. They have so many questions for her. They didn't expect her to be in danger. The Best of the Series
Originally Reviewed For: Tea and BookI know I have reviewed the serial books for this book but I wanted to just do a review of the entire book..Let me say this, without a doubt this is THE BEST book that Donna Grant has written. Her Dark Kings are heating up and I am not sure just who is truly trustworthy.Darcy Allen is just your everyday druid, from Skye, a faction that actually spells itself so that they not preform any magic that is evil. If you preform evil magic, you loose yours. Pretty harsh. But Darcy has worked with Ulrik and helped him.. and she still has her magic. Hmmmm, what does that say about Ulrik? But there is more going on than releasing Ulrik's magic. It's been three years and suddenly the Dark is after her. She's no longer safe at her home and she needs all the help she can get. Fortunately for Darcy.. she has this super gorgeous dragon on hand.Warrick has always been fascinated with humans. He couldn't even hate them when they were destroying the dragons. He is amazed by their brilliance and stupidity. But he's rather awkward when it comes to actually communicating, with anyone, so he has remained a dragon apart. Now Con has sent him to watch the Druid who is helping Ulrik. Warrick figures piece of cake, he can watch her and she'll never know he's there. Perfect plan until he sees the Dark that are beginning to surround her. Now he needs to be up close and personal and once he gets to know her, that personal part is beyond his control.Darcy and Warrick dance a slow waltz as they come together. There are trusts that need to be formed. Beliefs that need to be addressed and lines that need to be crossed. But somehow they know, that together they can conquer anything!Con is off on secret liaisons... when he's not trying to punish Darcy for her choices. And in his fear for the dragons, history might just repeat itself. Not good.Rhi is fighting a constant battle against the Dark within. Will she remain in the light? Or will her love for her Dragon finally destroy her? She has made some pretty serious self discoveries but more importantly some pretty accurate statements against the status quo..Ulrik... I still wonder about him. Even after his actions in Soul Scorched. Is he truly evil? There are those that say he is but I still wonder.Just a wonderful book! Way beyond 5 Stars.ShauniThis review is based on the ARC of Soul Scorched, provided by netgalley.

Good But My Least Favorite Book In The Series So Far
3.5/5 Stars- Review Originally Posted At Goldilox and the Three WeresI'm going to be upfront here. Soul Scorched is my least favorite book of the series so far. It's still good but for me, it doesn't live up to my expectations from the previous books. Warrick is sent to Edinburgh with the newly awakened Thorne to watch and obtain information from a druid who has the unique ability to touch the Dragon King's magic. Darcy's unique ability helped Ulrik's magic to be restored despite the binding the Dragon Kings placed upon him to take away his magic. Con is almost certain that she is working with Ulrik to destroy the Kings. Warrick, on the other hand, thinks Darcy is an innocent caught up in a war she has little knowledge about. The romance between Warrick and Darcy is intense and believable with the danger and a number of hurdles they have to overcome before they can be together. The romance is interesting but it wasn't my favorite part of the book. Darcy deserves a slow clap for trying to stay neutral and not choose sides between the Kings and Ulrik. In my opinion, the best part of the story is the build up that's happening towards what has to be a big battle and the showdown between Ulrik and Con. With war on the horizon, all of the Kings are being awoken to prepare for the inevitable and to do their best to keep their promise to protect the humans.Unfortunately, Con is becoming so wrapped up in focusing on Ulrik and his hatred that he's starting to alienate the other Kings. It's really starting to cause problems. Then there's Rhi and her story arc. I'm going to be honest, Rhi and her struggles and back story intrigues me to no end. She's one of my favorite characters in this series. I'm fascinated by her and can't wait until her story is told! I especially want to know who the heck her Dragon King is!With it's mix of plot lines, stories, tales and legends and it's epic battle between dark or light, this series has me hooked! Seriously. Between shifting alliances, the unexpected twists, and the secrets being revealed, I can't wait to read the next books in this series!

A great read
A great read that kept me hooked throughout. It had an interesting plot and characters.I'm still waiting to find out who Rhi's ex it, I noticed the half hints of bl...hair and b...eyes though I can't think who it might be apart from Con. I'm looking forward to seeing how the story progresses in the next book

One of my top 5 authors
Personally I do not like to do reviews as I believe everyone should try an author for themselves but personally I really love this author and read all of her books. This was another that I could not stop reading.
