The End of Expensive Lights Like Niterider?? Pending battery testing...
Quick Facts:first setting is bright, second setting is amazingly bright, third (full-power) setting is not really different than second (I presume it is not a third "equal" power LED bulb because it makes so little difference when turned on.Full power is very bright (brighter than my Niterider Moab HID)wide beam plenty for dark riding, fast, downhill in the woodsBattery looks cheap when taken out of holder, but burned bright until I shut off light at end of my first ride after 45 min. on full powerAluminum body was warm after 45 min of full power (65F outside air), I bare handed the light immediately after shutting off when I took it off my bars and was fineLight did not seem to dim over 45 minutes ridingI would buy it again and again...so far....pending further battery testing (check back for updates)I suspect the bad reviews for this light might be from people who work at the bike light companies selling lights for hundreds of dollars. Prices for mountain bike lights are rediculous! That said, I bought this light on some skepticism because I own an expensive Niterider Moab HID light that I mount to my helmet and I love. First, upon unwrapping from plastic bag package, this cheap-o light is powerful and solid looking in build quality. The body of the light is all aluminum. I mainly got it as a backup light for my mountain bike handlebars. I mostly ride a Santa Cruz Nomad 6" travel mountain bike in the woods in Santa Cruz, CA, where after dark, the woods are VERY dark, as the trees are dense and no moonlight can reach the forest floor. My nightrider Moab was always "enough" light, but some of my riding crew have additional lights on their bars, which made me jealous, and inspired me to shop for a bar light. I will write this review tonight, then update additional ride details as I test this light over more rides. So far so good though!Ride #1:I brought only this light out with me tonight. Rode up to the top in the dusk, it was dark by the time I reached the top. I didn't use the light on the way up because I know the trail well enough, and wanted to play it safe since I didn't have a backup. Turned the light on and it performed flawlessly for 45 minutes run-time on High setting without signs of dimming at end of my ride (also was not excessively hot, just warm to touch after use in 65 degree air--other buyers complained of too hot-but not my experience): It was 45 minutes of dark, steep, fast, technical downhill/switchbacks, with roots and rocks, loose dirt, sticks, etc. This bar mounted light was more than enough light to bomb without hesitation. Excellent light! Wide beam, powerful, nice white color to light, very close to daylight color. Mounted it to the bars with the rubber thing. Even with the drops, jumps, roots, rocks, ledges, etc. it was solid on my bars. Didn't require adjusting at all.

Very Bright with multiple settings
This is a Chinese product and the Chinese as masters of low cost, low quality products with some exceptions. I try to buy Chinese products only from Amazon because I know I can return them if they don't work. In this case, I got lucky. I've had this light for about four months and it has functioned flawlessly. The light clearly meets its brightness spec of 3800 lumens (I've compared it to two 3,000 lumen flashlights). It has high, low and flashing settings. I have not used it in total darkness...just at late dusk when I could still see without the need for additional light but even then the light was bright enough on the flashing setting to see its pattern on the road ahead. These no doubt that it will provide plenty of light for after dark biking. The light is also bright enough to provide excellent attention-getting daytime visibility as well. I have used this light on improved but very rough forest trails with multiple moguls and the it has held up to the beating.I have had no problem with the batteries or the charger. If I do, I believe I can replace the battery pack with something far more reliable than the battery pack and charger which came with it. This seems to be the key problem in most of the one-star reviews.I have rated this light at five stars based on the price and quality that I received. However, being a regular purchaser of Chinese products, I am well aware of quality issues and the fact that quality inspections are minimal if they exist at all. You likely will have a 20/80 chance of getting a piece of junk (21 1-2 star reviews vs. 96 5-star). That's not too bad for a Chinese product.

Battery included is junk!
I could only get about thirty minutes on med setting with the battery it came with. But the light seems to be of good quality,it is bright on all settings and still a great value without the batt.I chose to not return the light and up grade the battery,I still have a lot less in the set up than I have saw it go for in the past.Have a riding buddy ordered the same set up he has no issues with his batt. weather has not allowed me to test the new batt past an hour but seems to be fine.

Great light; great price!
I have had this light for a number of weeks now, but am only just writing this review, due to an it initial problem I experienced with the charging unit for the battery. This light is like a miniature car headlight! Absolutely awesome; the darker the environment, the more the benefit is felt. Attach it to the head-torch bracket and enjoy midnight dog-walking in the woods with your dogs!I'm considering buying a second one of the same type and mounting it next to the exisiting one on my handlebars...be bright; be seen, as they say!

Good light but lacking some decent fastening
Seems a good light so far.... will see how well holds the battery.Way of fixing is weak ... it does not offer a solid and secure way to put it on the handle. The light can be easily stolen off and is not very stable on the handle.

This is a very serious light
The light is really very bright and most excellent. I ride my bike on some dark rural roads and this really does show everything up. Its great in traffic as well because cars can see you coming. The head lamp strap is really handy too and the light is easy to move and adjust. The instructions were poor. The light remains charged for about an hour and a half which is sufficient but I would not use it without a back up just in case. All in all it was a good buy.
